Russian SRs Take a Particular Edge that is Peculiar to Russian Steel..The Edges are Scalpel Sharp.. Billy..
Today several packages which left Ukraine about same date like yours finally showed up on USPS site, so I hope you will get parcel in next few days Two comrades whose razor left Kiev on October,26 have their packages ready for pick up from December,12
This ridiculous but only shipments which left Ukraine on two dates October,26 and November, 2 stuck somewhere for long time...other people whose made orders more late already got it without any delays.
Haha! No the one on top is the real one the other is a picture on my pad from the website! It measures a hair over 4/8
Actually it was in transit 50 days, shipped on October, 24 and delivered to destination on December,12, but anyway this is "fastest" delivery to US what I had before, previous record was 38 days:rah:
Mike..Just Hone that with the Same Pressure as any Other SR..I Cant See Yours Properly but Mine Needed a Lot of Steel Removed to Set the Bevel.. Billy..
My first one was pretty close. Not horrible to set the bevel. Maybe 30 minutes on a 1k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alright,so she honed up pretty easy. Naniwa 1,3,5, and a fair amount of time on the 12. I wasn't sure I had it so I cleaned the stone and went over it a few times. Stropped on felt with.5 micron diamond spray about 10 laps, then leather for about 40 laps. At this point I decided a shave was required so I lathered up some Crown and Crane and I will certainly say that the razor is "Shave Ready ". I am very happy with the results. This razor is smooth. Of course it might have been the Vodka.
Vodka makes EVERYTHING better Glad it worked out. I have 3 Ruskies incoming. Looking forward to using them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All kidding aside the blade is very true with no bows or twists so the edge came out very even on both sides. This was an easy job for sure. And you may remember I'm a complete rookie.
