Hello all! I tried searching and could not locate a good spot online to get scale material... I'm looking for some sort of composite and I can fined tons in 5" length... But that's about 1/2" too short ... I have lots of deer antler but it seems so curved ... Any advice on this and a good spot to purchase some material on the cheap? Thanks!
You need 6 inch length Perfect working size for blanks is 6 x 1.5 x 1/8 that fits about any razor made Wood I use these guys http://www.bellforestproducts.com/short-exotic-wood-blanks/ and if you can't rip your own they do 1/8 http://www.bellforestproducts.com/thin-stock-lumber/ Wood needs to be dried properly or you are just asking for warpage so be careful of junk wood Masecraft Supply carries just about everything else like G10 Micarta, Mikume, Recon, and Faux These guys have 6 inch pen blanks but you have to be able to rip your own Razor blanks http://woodpenpro.com/acrylic_pen_blanks/0037_acrylic_blanks_monster_1x6_inch.html Antler requires a bit of work to use the bark, unless you want to just do Fat, Clunky, stuff more akin to a knife handle rather then a Razor Scale
