This happened to me as well on a WTB for a slant razor called the SR71 made by The Holy Black. He was a new TSD member and insisted using friends and family because he couldn't use goods and services because he wasn't a business. I researched that and told him he didn't need to be a business to use goods and services and he came back with lets use Venmo. At that point I told him I wasn't interested in the razor anymore and a week later another new TSD member said he had one to sell but his birthday on his id was the exact same date as the other scammer so I figured it wss the same guy. I thought I was savvy by avoiding this scam but I’m not that savvy. I just bought something on ali express and got delivered something completely different with a broken seal covered in black mold. when they wouldn't refund or send me what i ordered I posted a review and stupidly posted a pic of what I got and the package it came in which showed my name and address. Then, when I tried to edit the review to remove that pic I couldn't do it for some reason so I don't feel so savvy anymore. My wife is furious at me.
That'd be kinda funny...if the person who suspects a scam says to the scammer, "All right, buddeh, how many chips do I owe you for this product?. And by the way, I only pay in chips." But to be serious, scamming AYWHERE is lousy, as we all know.
Whenever you start a WTB post, the scammers come out of the woodwork. You don't need to be savvy to follow this advice, when you receive an offer to sell. 1) Never give the seller your email address. Stay on the forum for communication. 2) Ask to see pictures WITH a dated/signed card in the photos. 3) If the seller will not accept PayPal G&S, immediately report the seller to the moderators. 4) Block seller.
