Schick Repeating Razor Owners Club (SRROC)

The post office made an unexpected delivery today. Here is the new member of my Repeating razor, a C2:

As you can see, the C2 is not quite as bright as the others, but I new it had some plating loss. It needs to be cleaned up some, which may help as well. Either way, I am happy with the addition.

I'm sure that posting live auctions does increase the bidding. I'm glad I am not bidding on this.

 

Only if Darkbulb see something he wants, but this is pretty much in line what the last few silvers have gone for. I am guessing about $85 since it has a box.

Perhaps, but maybe an experiment is in order. The next time you find something you really want, let me know if I can announce the item for all to see when you are bidding on it.

Well, I admire someone who walks their talk. But I can guarantee you that on hard to find items most bidders would be pretty PO'd about having something they found broadcast to the world while the auction is live. Especially on a forum dedicated to those items.

 

Well I apologize for doing that to you. My intent was only to make it so those in the forum were aware that a desirable item was available. Obviously I have made a huge error so I will take my leave.

 

Actually, I am not bidding on this item - just making it clear that advertising scarce items during a live auction is likely to ruffle some feathers. I am sure that was not your intent.

 

So it went for $67. Another happy injector owner i hope. That one is a very fine example. Whoever won that should be proud

Very true and on some forums it's not allowed, only auctions that have ended or are buy it now. If you know someone who is interested in a particular item send a PM to that person.

I agree. I have had posts like this drive up the price on something that I found that was poorly listed. My initial response is always "Gee thanks, there goes the price on that one". For me half the fun is the hunt for poorly listed items. I hate doing that work only to have it be for naught because somebody chose to inadvertently advertise it for the seller. I do know that wasn't the intent here and I wasn't even bidding on this particular razor. And BTW this site has the no live auctions rule as I actually had a post removed that showed a joke item for sale. Even though it was a joke, it was a live auction and had to be removed.

That happened to me in another Forum & it did cost me a "Few Dollars More" as it was a very Rare Razor and I still went for it...Half the SE Community was on it like Vultures...I was Doing Back Flips...

It would appear that Colonel Schick was a bit of a Character..I found this Wee Article on Colonel Schick...Its very brief but sort of interesting ..He must have made an Impression somewhere because President Roosevelt made a Public Statement about him...
