Those blades have that extra magazine, you mean!......Great find......since you only wanted, the case and blades.......you can send me that little thin junk metal magazine, that comes with the blades.....ha, ha...You can keep the case and blades.....:D

Today I bonded once again with my Schick Simplified Automatic....

First I rifled a dozen old blades through it, to check the action....It performed perfectly, without a hitch or hesitation...

Then I picked a NOS Personna Chromium and dropped it in the magazine and racked the mag into it's place and then racked the new blade through the C3's mechanism, without a bobble....smooth as silk...

The shave was fantastic and second to none.....the full shave review is in the Injector & SE Party....

Man, it's great to be here, sharing with you guys, in the SRROC!!! Life Is Good!!!!

OK fellow SRROC members. Herm (#25) now had two B models (I didn't want the first one to be lonely). Here are the two together after a little dishwashing soap and a toothbrush and a very, very light brushing with a brass brush.

    Here's the seller's pic of the B1.

My only question is about the blade tray. They after different, which may explain why the B1 was jammed. The tray from the B2 is on top. Is this right out did someone change trays?

First of all congrats on the razors they look fantastic! As far as the blade magazine goes I think the one went into the B1 was up side down or backwards it looks kind of bent up. Let me revise this .....whatever that is definitely did not belong in this razor! The spring needs to fit into the opening of the first example to properly feed the blade to the mechanism. I'm glad you got it out of there. Beautiful razors Hermy!

Thanks Red. I wondered why the blade tray on the B1 was different. The action on the B2 is smooth as butter, but not the B1 with that tray. Anybody got a spare B1 tray out there? Or know how to fabricate one? Otherwise I'll have to "share" the one tray between the two razors.

They're not done yet. Tomorrow I'm visiting my friend the jeweler and have him run them in his ultrasonic cleaner for a bit. THEN, they'll be ready for action. I'll also work on some better pics, my camera (phone) is acting weird.

Me I just hand load mine. The mechanism is prone to failure with modern blades because they are thinner than the old ones. Once I know the mechanism is intact and functional I leave things alone..

You mean just "hand load" them into the head? How do you get them under the spring, it seems pretty tight.

For what it's worth - yes, hand load. That's the only way I load my repeater. I don't want to chance jamming the thing.

Me too. I jammed my Mint B2 and swore not to risk it again.

Hand load it is. You mean just carefully slide it under the spring? Sounds like a good way to get cut. But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I may toss the mis-matched tray, its not even close to fitting properly. Thanks Red, Vince, Hodge and Karl.

I insert it in from the side and use a plastic toothpick to adjust it into position. Pretty easy.

OK, thanks. Sometimes the answer to the simplest question can elude you. Guess I was over-thinking this one.
