Will do. The description wasn't great so I'm crossing my fingers there are no surprises. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I think I came in second on that one. If it's the one I bid on, I think you did well. I can't wait to hear how it shaves. Congratulations
Well, I appreciate you letting me get this one and the positive thoughts . I really was all in on it since I had a green light from my better half. You have to chuckle that we all use the same strategy--bid within last ten seconds and put in our best number. As you know, there were zero bids, then it blows up. I even get a kick out of watching the activity on auctions I'm not participating due to this type of activity. Seems like type As have been going for just under 150, so I'm happy to have this one on the way. There were some schick blade blanks for repeater demonstrations out there on the bay as well, which are very cool. What an interesting piece of history that will round out someone's collection! As a new convert from B&B, I was hoping you might accept this as membership into the club! My three Type Bs: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Pres will be along yo formally accept you. Three great examples you have there. Most of all welcome to the Forum. It is very friendly and supportive group. It is just like family. Tom
I three B's automatically makes you Revered Member status, but I'm just a flunky, what do I know? LOL. Welcome to the Den!
Thank you @twhite and @Herm2502! It's a pleasure to be along for the ride! I was lucky enough to acquire four Bs from the same source earlier this year, but unfortunately a B1 not shown was jammed and no amount of ultrasonic cleaning, soaking and even a short period of detention in the freezer would make it unstuck. It was gifted to a friend. Now to find a A and a C to finish the collection!
Thanks @mrchick, I remember reading about your jammed B earlier in this thread. What else have you attempted? The B on the right-hand side of my picture was also seized when I received it, but several cycles through an ultrasonic cleaner opened the plunger enough so that I could get a small jewellers screwdriver in and open it the rest of the way.
I've tried multiple trips through the sonic cleaner, lubricants, etc. I can't get it to budge even enough to get anything in.
It's funny, but with my four B's the one that will not open it also the mint-iest looking of the bunch. It almost as if the owner couldn't work the mechanism or it seized early in it's life, and was relegated to the bottom drawer thereafter.
You're on the roster as #26! Welcome to the club and welcome to the shave den, glad to have you here!
