I have been wearing my New Spice for about a week now and it has some odd comments. I personally like it. But, the general opinion from the women, is that it smells a little too feminine for a man. Have any of you fellas noticed that? I will admit it is a bit on the sweet side, but that is nothing that a few drops of a quality sandelwood EO could not fix.

So, I am going to use a 5ml tester vial to run an experiment. Today I will put a drop or two of sandelwood EO in this vial of New Spice. The vial is then getting put in the closet until August 1st. I will then take it out, put an atomizer on the tube, and let a group of women (they will consist of mostly family) critique both. You fine folks of TSD will get a report on the results.

Before I continue with this experiment, does anyone have any helpful advice?

my wife says New Spice reminds her in a few ways of Thierry Mugler Angel Men, and I agree with her.

New Spice is great - buy my wife didn't like it. I always detected a hint of caramel in it. MMMMM!

Incidentally, as soon as I get a couple more posts under my belt, I will be putting up the New Spice shave soap, AS milk, and cologne for sale.

I went ahead and put two drops of sandelwood in a 10ml vial of New Spice. It has only been a few days, but it already has a more masculine smell to it. Even the wife says it is better. I am still going to wait another month before actually using it to allow the EO's to blend together more thoroughly.

I went on the SCS site today to order a few bottles of New Spice for myself and gifts for some male relatives only to find the price of the 2 oz bottle has doubled!! I realize that the price of things is going up, but to DOUBLE the price, WTF!!! I could see charging so much more for a bigger bottle, but not the same little one. Just my 2 cents.

From a post Sue had made over at SMF:

"We have restructured our pricing on Eau De Toilettes. We are no longer able to offer the low prices we have had in the past. The balance was so far off, each bottle was a loss. It was a big decision if we should increase them a little every month or so...or get right to the end point. This is what we did. An increase is necessary or the option is to quit carrying EDT entirely."

So I was wondering if anyone else thinks that New Spice smells like pinesole?
The pine smell is there for a long time and it is not until I am about to go to bed that the smell mellows out to a nice frag.

I wouldnt say it smells like Pine -sol,......i have a bottle of the body wash here that is kindve earthy and slightly sweet but not like a household cleaner.

+1 I would say it smells nothing like a cleaner. Caramely is how I would describe it.

I find the scent of SCS New Spice practically identical to Thierry Mugler Angel Pour Homme.

I believe Sue addressed this not so common issue . It is not New Spice. No pine scent at all.

SWMBO loves it and I enjoy being married.

I have both and often hear this comparison. The overwhelming coffee notes in A-Man actually takes away from the overall scent, making Sues New Spice a much more pleasing scent, IMO. I always say that expensive does not always mean good.

If my memory serves me right, my son (jfever) got me my bottle from this guy SoulShine. I just want to say thank you for doing that.
