:happy102: Poor dude's got severe osteoporosis

That's it! Shame on that seller. It should be "free to a good home with references." I probably wouldn't qualify though. If one of my handles croaks, I'm going to trick it out Liberace-style :innocent

3 pass shave with an E2 and schick blade (5)
The MWF didn't lather very well today, don't know if it's because I didn't load the brush enough or the water hardness impeded the lather.

Still a great shave, close, smooth and irritation free.

I'll switch to an SE tomorrow, but have to decide which one.

5 hours later - developed a little bit of irritation a couple of hours after the shave, probably due to the poor lather.

So, how much is too much for a Schick Injector? I'm talking about a used one that works as it should. At the untique store I saw two for about 17 dollars or so. The owner didn't know much about them, but said it needed some kind of key to open? I'm new to the injector and I'm not sure if that was a necessary piece or not, so I didn't get it.

I'm still new to the injector scene, but my personal opinion is that if you're CONUS, you should not have to pay more than $10 for a mechanically sound injector (including ship if online), unless it's a rare model. It may take some time hunting locally & online, or it may not-- check out youngunn's great $1.99 score upthread :D

For online resources, a good place to start is Alan Appleby's site. You can get a feel for what models are more plentiful (and cheaper) by looking at the # of years produced:
    http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm

The SE & Injector Party! thread is also a great resource, as is the wiki entry for injectors at badgerandblade.com....The "key" is part of the injector cartridge that comes when you buy blades. It's the part that sticks into the razor: image.jpg

Hope that's helpful to start :).

    Soap: Arko
    Brush: VDH white handled boar
    Razor: Schick I2 Hydro-magic
    Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (4)
    AS: Aqua Velva

I switched to Bigelow today but the Hydro-magic is still in there and the blade should be good at least through Sunday. It was almost 90 F here yesterday so it's time for some menthol. :) Finished with Aqua Velva Ice Blue for a great face freeze. Great shave, nearly BBS all over and no irritation.

    Cream: Bigelow
    Brush: TGN silvertip
    Razor: Schick I2 Hydro-magic
    Blade: Personna (5)
    AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Bummer. But by Vintage Week in early May, you'll be a Schickninja :kar:

I enjoyed a smooth, easy tennis set with the L3 this evening. I used a Chinese Schick blade (1) & have new appreciation for the L3's long, kitchsy, easy-grip handle (click to enlarge). image.jpg

The L3's great in the shower, but I can't recommend it over other long-handled injectors (K1-2, J, L) because the lightweight handle is hard plastic. My Google-fu suggests that it chips & scuffs easily.

As a novice I did not appreciate much difference in performance btwn the L3 & K1 Lady Eversharp. While the L3 is not hard to clean, it lacks the Hydromagic lever which opens to allow access to the entire blade. This is what the HM lever looks like on the I2 (click to enlarge): image.jpg .

The HM lever is present in the K series, I2 & later Js. However "Eversharp Hydromagic Injector Razor" = the sexy I2 (which also came in ivory):

The I2 is possibly the best looking razor ever made - and it shaves great too. :)

Gotta remember to take it slow with these guys! I tend to shave too quick. But I *love* to shave with these razors!
