Well, I watched most of you open your secret Santa gifts these last couple of weeks, drooling over each and every item. Well, today it's my day to make you all drool. My secret Santa gift arrived today and I must say that my secret Santa went above and beyond the call of duty. It starts with a "sight unseen" deal from whippeddog.com, which included a straight razor and a strop. This is excellent because the strop I have is really nicked up and is in a bad way. Next comes a 22mm silvertip brush set inside a handmade handle from Firehouse Pottery. I love the handle from the color to the weight of it. It feels nice and solid and I'm looking forward to whipping up a great lather with it. Third up is a container of Razorock XXX. I love this stuff and I will be using it tomorrow along with the new brush and st8. Also thrown in was a couple of samples of Bald Frog soaps. Thank you so very much Santa! This was such an awesome experience and your generosity topped the list. I really appreciate the items and your thoughtfulness behind them. I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. Now on to the pictures! I got so excited that I went ahead and whipped up some lather with the Razorock ans what a lather it was. Fantastic brush. I was so excited when I made the lather, I went ahead and lathered my face up just to feel the awesomeness of this brush! I set out to just make some lather to clean up the brush and then maybe a couple more times before I used it, but I don't know what came over me and the next thing I knew I was lathering my face. Oh well! It was worth it. What a soft brush. I haven't experienced anything like it before. I'm so excited to use it tomorrow! Here is pic of the bloom from one lather. It's beautiful. Tom, your pics and your Secret Santa sending that to you are not helping my SBAD. I was just looking at the WhippedDog site and saw those pottery handles with the silver tip knots. I wasn't sure how the pottery handle would feel so your comments on it already may be pushing me over the edge. The color on it is great too. Enjoy it for many, many, many shaves to come!
Thanks Brian! I am so happy with this thing. It's weight is pretty hefty, which I really like. And it whipped up lather like a mother. It's actually shorter than my Tweezerman, but it's so much bigger. Get one!
Well, after a long week at work, I came home to a wonderful surprise sitting on my kitchen counter, a package from my Secret Santa. I was going to wait until Sunday, but my curiosity got the best of me. I opened it and couldn't believe what was in it. Not one, not two, but three things I have been wanting to try! All I can say is thank you so much to my Secret Santa. I can't wait to try these out!!! It's things like this that makes The Shave Den the best! It's been so cool to see what everyone has gotten. I hope everyone has enjoyed this as much as I have.
So has Byrd gotten his Secret Santa goodies yet and the list just hasn't been updated to reflect it or is his running late?
I had just asked him that via PM earlier tonight and he replied back that he had received it, just hadn't gotten around to posting it yet.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using all my Secret Santa goodies. Again thank you Santa, for your generosity and all the great products.
