I bought one on looks alone and love it. I followed up by buying an ash SOC badger. Love it too.

Been using my SOC Bore exclusively for the last week or so - face and head - and it has softened extremely well. I'm loving this brush; soft and stiff at the same time, and makes great lather...what's not to love? It has become my favorite brush. Love this site - probably wouldn't have given it a look if not for this thread...thanks people. :)

It is a wonderful brush, the handle is so comfortable I couldn't believe it! My tips are ridiculously soft now as well and it's bloomed to the point where it could be a centrepiece on a shaving display shelf.

    Worth every penny IMO

Just got some Omegas I received in a trade. Haven't used them on my face just lathered on my hand. I have never used a boar before. They shed a few hairs. They're pretty well broken in. Is this normal? Would a Semogue shed less?

Shedding always depends on the knot; any company can have a chronic shedder though. Depends on how many its losing per shave really, my Owners Club has lost about 10 hairs or so in the last year, my 610 had about 6 go in the last month but has stopped. I'd use it a little longer to find out whats going on and give it some time to see if its truly a problem.

Something I have noticed is shedding with some brushes left unused and uncleaned for too long. Discovered that after a bathroom remodel. The brushes were completely dry when they went into storage during the remodel. My best guess is soap/cream residue did weaken the roots or glue of the knots.
Just mentioning it since you say you got the brush in a trade. It could be a possible explanation for what you're seeing.

    My SOC in bowl lather
2 minutes soak and 1 minute load with La Toja.
In the 3rd pass i had lather for painting moving but not for swirling.

That brush does not love circular moves.
