The Schick F is a truly efficient razor and the Soap Exchange Barber Shoppe provided good slickness. Great shave.
Day 4 of 7-day Test Drive Today was the fourth consecutive shave using this custom Mastro Livi. I'm still careful with the deadly-sharp point, but navigating this large razor is beginning to feel 'normal' as I've grown acclimated to the sheer size of it. I pushed it a bit further than the normal three passes in order to hit the true BBS territory. I achieved it—but at some cost. What became apparent is why I don't normal 'chase the baby' when I shave. I do have sensitive skin and repeated passes tend to lead to inflammation. No real inflammation resulted, but I do have some smooth but tender spots now that revealed themselves when I applied the Snake Bite aftershave. Four down, three to go!
In keeping with my Saturday focus, I started out with my Feather AC SS for the first pass. I'm getting this thing figured out. I got a nice pass with no irritation that I would call CCS. I did a cleanup pass with my Ever Ready 1912 for a DFS. I'm learning a lot on this SE focus. SOTD Feather AC SS Feather Pro blade Ever Ready 1912 Gem blade Colonel Conk Bay Rum soap Omega Boar brush AOS AS Balm Pinaud Bay Rum AS Have a great weekend!
I was very nervous about trying the Feather Super Pro blade, once I did my first pass WOW! This blade is no joke. I could've gotten away with a two pass shave. I'll be waiting for your thoughts.
September 30 Day Focus--Blade Search Sept 12 (no shave yesterday) Razor -- Lord L6 Blade -- Ladas Brush -- VDH Boar Soap -- Stirling MITA Post -- Cold water splash and WH, TSD Bourbon Vanilla Another excellent shave from the Ladas blade. Seems incredibly smooth and had no problem slicing through two day growth which about killed the Derby blade. A shave with this blade is very reminiscent of a shave with the GSB. Hopefully will have one more good shave tomorrow and we will have another great blade from the Russians. Have a great rest of the weekend and happy shaving!
I gave you a like even though you had that hideous G sitting there. (Love the fact your mom made it though, she just should have convinced you to go to a better college that's all ). Looking forward to some great SEC football this year! Go Cocks!!
SEptember Focus Day 12: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Ben Franklin SS Injector Type G Stirling Unscented PSB Stirling Ben Franklin AS Best shave to date with this razor. I am still working with the angle of attack a bit, and I think I nailed it today. I really cut down on the irritation and am DFS. Before this razor, I would have said BBS, but honestly ghost razor has redefined BBS for me.
September 11th - week two focus Dubl Duck Wedge Razor: Dubl Duck Wedge 5/8 Strop: drygulch horse hide strop Brush: Omega 48 Bowl: KO shave mug Soap: Stirling Frozen Tundra Post shave: cold water, alum, Stirling Frozen Tundra post shave splash Stirling unscented post shave balm Growth: 1.5 days Shave 7 Friday morning shave - goal shave without curing myself again. In the past 3 weeks, I've picked up 5 8 9 new flavors of soap because I wanted different scents I have the obesession and the means right now! 1st pass on cheek was smooth and close - paying close attention to the cut next to my mouth from the last shave. YAY! NO BLOOD! The first pass was going well until I tried to shave too far across my lip with my dominate hand. Cut myself again just above Thursday's cut. Lots of blood this morning. The rest of the shave was a formality. I now know what the Broncos felt like during the super bowl two years ago. Retail therapy helped though. Speed by AoS and picked up a lemon lavender soap and bowl. Now tomorrow got to get ready to swim from Alcatraz. 1st - WTG: N/S on face and neck 2nd - XTG: E/W face 3rd - ATG/XTG: w/ Merkur Progress DE with Wilkenson Sword (7 shaves) Cheers, Eric
And I thought I liked you. Had all of Columbia I could stand just doing in processing at Ft Jackson. Took my daughter to tour SC and I was positive all day since it was a full ride if she went there. Her first comment as we left, "Free is not good enough, I would need to be paid to go here" Thank you. We all get ceramic gifts each year. Let's just say some are better than others.
After this weekend with the 1912, I too will be using the Goose with Super Pros. Look forward to your report after the first shave.
