After Shave: Proraso Green


Fourth shave with the Canadian Schick Type E and same blade.
I'm improving with each shave. I can only imagine what this razor would provide after a 30-day Rule.

Eight hours later - no sign of growth! Absolutely none.

Last evening it was go number 4 for the MMOC.
Homemade pre shave oil,
Omega 81052 boar,
Colonel Conk- amber
MMOC w/ Gem Ted Pella (4)
Alum bloc,
Witch hazel,
Claiborne for Men.

This was my best shave yet for my first single edge razor, the Gem MMOC. My problem area for any razor is under the chin along the throat. I decided to do a one pass ATG like I used to with a cart. This turned out to be very clean and no more irritation than usual. The rest of the shave was BBS. This is turned out to be very much fun. I'm like a little kid learning how to play with his new toy in many different ways.

I love 30's-40's big band. I have my dad's Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall concert 33⅓ albums, his boxed set of Glenn Miller 45's and a couple Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey albums. I also have them in digital. Both my wife and I enjoy listening and dancing to them. Looking forward to once again doing a little fairly decent jitterbug.

Had another lovely One Pass shave with the Feather SS Club which offered me a smooth DFS Result...I like the Feather SS a lot...The Feather Pro Blades are hyped out of all proportion though...I get one really crazy sharp shaving experience with the Feather Pro and then they sort of smooth out from there on....

That's fine and Dandy, but all things Feather have been hyped to almost Religious Proportion in some Forums....

Today I switched from my Gem Micromatic to my Ever Ready 1912. The first thing I noticed is how much feedback this razor gives. I could definitely tell when it was cutting. I got a very nice two pass shave with some cleanup on the neck. It BBS but still a DFS.

I agree with you on the Feathers. I'm not fond of them on the first shave but they smooth out after that and give me excellent shaves.
