I'm going through my different 1912's. I have previously used my GEM Jr. W/ Baton handle and my smooth cap travel Gem, and yesterday was my English Ever Ready. Today it is the Star. Smooth effortless shave. AGAIG.

9/16/2015 Single Edge September / Windsor Wednesday!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GEM MicroMatic OC, AJ Jordan The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE blade (1)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: DR Harris - Windsor
    After: Home made ASB,
    Cologne: Midnight In Paris

Welcome to Windsor Wednesday! The #6 brush did a great job whipping the Windsor into a very nice lather this morning. I had enough lather for at least 6 passes. The MMOC paired with the GEM blade gave really good feed back. The MMOC and the AJ Jordan did a nice job getting rid of the stubble. The Midnight In Paris was a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Midnight in Paris, I'm intrigued. What kind of fragrance? Who makes it? Where do I get it?

Schick Type C (Magazine Repeating Razor).
I’ve got two different types - I used the C3 (safety bar) yesterday, today I’ll us the C1 (open comb).

    Morning shave
    Hot Shower
    Soap: Arko stick
    Brush: Omega Pro 48
    Razor: Schick C1
    Blade: Schick Injector (China) (1)
Thayers Lemon & Aloe Witch Hazel
    After Shave: Myrsol Limon

Another great two-pass shave similar to the one yesterday with the C3.
I could not really tell any difference between the two with just one shave on each. There is something cool though about the looks of an open comb.

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m interested in these because of their compact design, making it a very good candidate for a travel razor.

Tomorrow I begin to test a few of my GEM razors.

    Cheers!

Thanks Mr. B! I'm really enjoying the injectors. They all should be keepers but I'll probably part with one or two to share the wealth!

    My other SEs:
Gems: Featherweight, G Bar, Pushbutton, Micromatic OC, Clog Pruf and Bullet Tip
    EverReady Shovelhead

So many razors, only one shave per day!

Have you tried that shovelhead yet?.....I've been romancing mine lately....and I'm starting to think that one may be absolutely perfect in every way....I can't think of one small thing that I would want to improve it...

With the shovelhead, make sure when you open it that you have your fingers on the handle in such a way that the top doesn't flip open and hit the handle....Most the ER 1924s I've seen have a substantial scratch on the top where they have been allowed to slam into the handle when they were popped open....Thats not a weakness, if you hold the handle with your fingers all the way around it and popp the latch with your thumb it will pop open and safetly come to rest on the back of your fingers rather than the metal handle....

I think these razors are absolute genius, they were all designed by JB deMesquita who eventually became President of American Safety Razor. He designed the first shovelhead in 1909 and tweaked them til 1925... They are all pretty much the same except the handles...That razor of yours is so far ahead of its time for 1909!

Put the head flat on your cheek and slowly lower the handle as you do your first N-S stroke. The sound will tell you when the angle is right, and these guys are probably louder than anything you've tried so far }8^)) The angle is not as flat as any of the other SEs...I like the angle very much, you'll lower that handle about half way between most SEs and DEs. Makes it easy to get under your nose I think...Just don't use pressure, this one doesn't need any, like the injectors do...This one is super efficient but also super smooth....I think you'll dig it! It's very capable of a one pass BBS...

They both give comparable shaves IMO with the F being a bit more aggresive. The F type does give a distinctive audible feedback sound because of the solid metal construction.
