Back on focus with in a big way, a 7/8 Koraat with a 1/4 grind

I woke a little late so I was pressed for time. In order to not rush the shave I skipped the final ATG pass. If I skip the ATG pass it a sure thing I will not achieve a BBS. I finished DFS and despite waking up a little late I was able to head to work on time.

I received this soap as a gift from my wife and daughters. I have neglected using it very much so I will make a real effort to use it on a weekly basis going forward. They like seeing there gifts in my SOTD photos. The CH2 Synthetic whipped up a very nice lather. I went with a traditional 3 pass shave this morning. After touching up my normal trouble spots, I ended the shave with a near BBS which is my normal for work mornings. I finished off the shave with a splash of CC Sandalwood. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Italian Barber L'Americano
Post: Witch hazel splash, Fine American Blend, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice shave again today with this setup. Day two using this combination and the result was equal to yesterday's. Smooth shave and smelling good. I love Fine American Blend and the L'Americano soap is a spot-on match to the scent. Good performance from the soap as well.

    Have a great day!

    SEptember 21 SOTD:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    La Toja
    Schick Adjustable
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue/Musk mix

I dialed the adjustable up to 4 today, and ended with some good results. Still very comfortable and I would call it a DFS. I was a bit rushed, or else I could have touched up a bit for a BBS. I know we have a few La Toja lovers on here, and I am one too. It is just a great shave stick. Great scent and better performance. What a great start to my day. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Razor: F2 Gillette Fatboy (4)
    Blade: Treet Platinum (1)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: NeutroMarvy

Taking a bit of a break from focus to let the area above my lips heal a bit after too much aggression and bad technique.

I haven't used one of the Treet Platinum blades in a bit, but I am really impressed with them- sharp and smooth for a nice combo with the Fatboy. Tried to spend a bit more time today working on technique and babying the area where I cut myself yesterday. I ended up partially reopening the cut, but the Alum took care of that. Ended up with a DFS and a good start to the day.

    Gillette New Long Comb
    Astra Superior Platinum Blade.
Ginger's Garden Green Irish Tweed Aftershave Splash

Shaving on autopilot. Since there has been very little to no drama with my razor blade combo, I've been trying different ways of making lather with different brushes. Today I loaded up the boar with a fair amount of soap after giving it 2 good shakes. Then when in the bowl making lather, I started adding a little water to get to the right consistency. The result was a rich thick lather that may have been a little too thick. No biggie, it's a process. I took a deliberate 2 pass WTG and ATG riding the cap & listening for audio feedback. End result was a DFS followed by a great new (to me) aftershave splash.

    Stirling 24mm Synthetic
    Dr. Jon's Hydra
Tangerine AS and Nivea Sensitive ASB

Good morning friends. The Pal Adjustable once again delivered an absolutely flawless shave this morning. This shave was so smooth that I couldn't even tell that there was a blade in the razor. There was no feedback either audible or tactile, the only evidence that the Pal was doing its job was when I rinsed the head and saw the whiskers running down the drain. Hydra is such an awesome smelling soap and if you love raw citrus I'm not sure you could do much better then Hydra. I kept the citrus punch going with my homemade tangerine AS and used a drop of Nivea to make things silky smooth. What a fantastic start to the day! Have an awesome day my friends!

I recently picked up this brush that I believe to be NOS. I cleaned and test lathered with it last night. This morning I gave it a go. It has a nice feel and enough backbone for a very nice lather. It's a keeper.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Happy Wednesday. Still in the woods but alas, no bear or even racoon brush yet. However I did scare up a badger while out for a walk this morning. Well, scared up may not be right as I usually rum the other way from badgersNJ. This one made a hasty retreat before I could grab enough for a new brush. Two shaves on the 49 SS and Voskhod this week. Two more to go. Hope your week has been a good one.
