    Brush - Omega 10066 BoS
    Soap - Arko
Post - Alum, Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Oh wait.....NONE of that up there happened today. Final day of my vacation and I slept in a bit, we did some running around shortly after for her new glasses, came back and worked on the back yard, basically a lot of organizing stuff for work tomorrow and then a lot of nothing after dinner and.....I DID do my head shave for the week. But no normal shave.

So, the above is the setup for tomorrow when I'll do the second shave on the Eddison. Changing the routine a bit gives me that freedom and that can't be a bad thing. Hope you all had a wonderful and fantastic day. A bit quiet around here today but I know a lot of people are running like crazy with work and other things going on. This kind of nice weather late in September begs for extra effort!

I look forward to reading about how you like the shaves with the Barbasol Floating Head, it is the only vintage DE that made the cut in my den.

I read further and see you enjoyed it, I like mine so much I had it replaced.

New razor trying out for the team. Hey it was on sale.... I tried to resist but this Hart Steel 7/8 round point arrived yesterday so let's see if it can earn a place on the team.

It did come shave ready and was popping hairs so decided it was good to go. Four passes zero blood and zero feedback from the alum but just missed BBS. All in all a good shave . It is a big razor but feels a tiny bit smaller and lighter than my Hart 7/8 square point. While the edge felt good I will touch it up and see if I can fine tune it a little.

Three passes and minimal touch ups ended in another consistent near BBS shave this morning. I finished off the shave with a splash of CC Sandalwood. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Well, it's been 24 hours since I shaved and we have a winner. Both of these razors shave great and I'll happily continue to use them. After 12 hours I could feel a difference and now I can see it. The PAL is a very comfortable shave. I love the handle, the looks and the results I get from it. The Ever-Ready is just on another level. The audible feedback is impressive, it is very comfortable to use and the results are the best of my razors. 24 hours after shaving and I still have a DFS on my left side. The Ever-Ready 1914 is the king of my collection.

SEptember has been fun for me and I've enjoyed seeing everyone's SE renditions. I bought a Schick L1 (at least I think it's an L1) recently and it came in yesterday. Maiden shave today. @Rufus T. loaned me an L1 for a pass-around a couple of months back and I remembered liking the razor a good bit. Today's shave didn't disappoint. Lots of audible feedback. The Cahaba Blues soap whipped up beautiful lather and the L1 swiped right through all of it. Nice shave and smelling good with Country Club's Sweet Water.

    Have a great day!

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Arko
    Schick Type J
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Clubman AS

I was leaning towards letting this razor go, as I can get similar shaves with my adjustable. Shaves like this morning, though, make me rethink that a bit. Super smooth, and a very easy DFS. I was in the gym locker room, and I don't know that there is a better shave possible in that setting. The Arko was great as always, as was the Clubman. I'll have to really look hard at what I want to do with this razor. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Razor: M3 Schick Adjustable (5)
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: NeutroMarvy

Decided to give the Schick Adjustable another go today as I'm finding myself having mixed feelings about it. I went back to the lower setting of 5 to see if I could minimize the chance of blood. (No such luck, I made a stupid slip anyway.) I found myself trying to play around a bit with angle, though it seemed like there is little to play with and pretty much rode the "cap", as usual.

One thing I did notice today is the effect of aftercare on my perception of the shave. Initially, I just used the alum and felt the shave was ok, but could have been better/closer. A bit later, I applied some Every Man Jack face lotion and post shave. Since then, I'm thinking that maybe this shave wasn't so bad after all. I assume that this is due to the skin rehydrating and causing the whiskers to retract (that or a softening effect on the whiskers themselves).

    Lots to ponder...

Earlier this week I used a Slim AI shavette and today I used a folding Feather DX. I am leaving Saturday to return to the fatherland and visit my dad. In addition to my usual travel DE (Ikon closed bar) I wanted to bring a shavette because I will miss using a straight razor.

Today was the best shave ever with a shavette, zero blood and BBS.... just missed epic shave status. For some reason I prefer the Feather DX folding to kamisori version. I think it feel heavier. It maybe all in my head but for what ever reason I prefer the folder. The Feather is the clear winner and will make the trip back to the US with me.
