Praying for you both, as well as all the others in Florida. It's been a rough patch of weather lately.
SEptember 10 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Glastonbury CJB Pain Stick Stirling Unscented PSB Stirling Glastonbury AS I broke out the Pain Stick for the this morning, and ended with a CCS. I need to work on picking this razor up more often, as I used to get two pass DFS with little effort. I am definitely not quite there now. It was still a nice shave, and was made better with my son joining in. We had a lot of fun before church. I had to head in to work for a bit after service, but it has been a great day. I hope everyone is having a great day as well.
So I just got caught up after a hellacious week. As usual, you all have posted a lot of great porn, but let me sum up the important stuff by sending a prayer to anyone in Florida, and also to those of you digging out in Texas. Three days of growth, one of my more aggressive SE's, and and a cool, cool soap before I take my my wife out to a BBQ/street dance. As usual I got a great shave out of the deal. Staying on focus today, at least in terms of the SE part, I broke from my Stirling September for a good cause to use Jeff's Soap. This is my first crack at a CRSW soap, and I don't usually comment on a soap without giving it a few uses, but this one is so easy to get it right, it deserves a mention. It is super easy to lather, and hits a really slick sweet spot quickly. I kept adding dribbles to it to try to break it, but it makes a really stable lather. Great residual slickness, and the volume of the lather just keeps growing and groWING as you work it with water. Even after one use, I can say that this is good soap. I have my bag packed for the week and already loaded in the pickup: a new shavette, a new brush and a couple of new soaps. Oof, 1:30 is gonna come early.
I tried the Ice Sport a few times.....my immediate comment was that it was better than the regular one so far as avoiding getting too much spillage.
That's a great setup. That razor and the Glastonbury soap are two of my favorites. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
CRSW makes a really good soap. I own two of them and they are both wonderful. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Thank you, Chris. I was in the mood for a premium set up this morning, and this one fit the bill. If only I wasn't rusty with a Pain Stick, it would have been an epic shave.
SOTD September 9, 2017 A Stirling SEptember Blade: Schick Razor: Schick I1 injector Brush: Omega Hi synthetic Lather: Stirling Iced Pineapple Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Iced Pineapple aftershave WTG, touch-up Yesterday's shave. Just now able to post as I was out of town last night. Really smooth and enjoyable shave. Have a great evening!
Smells like the Drug Store SEptember!!!! (Stirling Booster) September 10 Razor - Schick Injector M2 Blade - (3) Soap - Stirling Bay Rum Brush - Jayaruh #46 ASOD - Clubman Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!!! Oh, I didn't cut myself. No, nothing that ordinary. I just managed to get some of the bay rum Stirling in my left eye as I was getting ready to go for the second pass. Now, soap in your eye isn't a good thing, but I'm thinking the alcohol content of that soap may be high. Sheesh! Still burning after rinsing my eye repeatedly with cold water and saline, finishing the shave, rinsing with more saline and ending with some Visine rewetting drops since I don't have any other kind. I think I'd rather do a slice and dice with a pain stick that try the bay rum in the eye again. I suppose the one saving grace - still better than menthol below the belt, from what I'm told. Other than that little mess up the shave was awesome. Smooth, near-BBS, great lather as long as it was only on my face and my weekend has officially begun!! Funny thought - since I'm squinting like a pirate now from the bay rum soap, does that mean I might find another one-eyed matey about? Perhaps someone like........
