I've shaved with that razor for 3 consecutive days now. And that's saying something for me. Especially when I am supposed to be on an SE focus.

    Thank you, Sir!

Appreciate that. Took me three tries to get the products to fit the frame, then an out of focus filter completed the composition.

Thank you! And to think I passed up several of theses when I was in DE & SR AD.

Me, too. My laptop wouldn't boot up when I got home last night. Spent hours in Safe Mode, then did a System Restore. Guess I could have waited another day to watch "The Orville". But sleeping in late is an option for the semi-retired.

Now all you are doing is enabling me to hoard soaps I don't really like now in case I might like them in the future. You mus have a PHD in enabling, Clint.

Better to keep them on hand then try to go out and buy them again. And what if they are no longer available then ?

    Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
Brush: 24mm Silvertip, Frank Shaving (FS)
    Soap: Arko/Williams
    Razor: GEM 1912, (Brooklyn?)
    Blade: Treet (10)
Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Clubman After Shave Lotion, Pinaud

Today I was just wanting to try and get back to my normal routine & hoping it would also help with my pain level to get cleaned up. For today's shave I hoping for unadulterated lather. What soap gives a better lather than Arko or Williams but a mix of Arko and Williams and it did not disappoint me. I used the FS Silvertip for the second time. This is a nice dense brush with a 25-25.5mm knot at the top of the handle and a 52.45mm loft. The only negative thing I could say about the brush is the lack of back bone. If it was set just a couple of mm deeper it would be a better brush. I may at some time in the future reset the knot in another handle. Today's razor was a GEM 1912. It may/may not be another GEM Brooklyn. @Bird Lives told me I should do a compression between this razor and my other Brooklyn 1912 which I will be doing in another post. I did a two pass shave with a cleanup pass under my jaw. Finished with some new Clubman After Shave I picked up the other day on the way home from the hospital. All this left me with a DFS.

In my case it went the other way. Soaps I originally thought were great got demoted.

Believe me I didn't mean to enable you. I've been trying to thin out the soaps I have on hand. I want to get down to 10 soaps that I truly enjoy. This will allow me to bring in 1 or 2 for a change of pace or to try something new.

    Pre: Hot Shower
Razor: Delta Echo F2 Fat Boy
    Blade: Voskie (4)
Brush: LowBorn Supply Nebula/AP Shave Co. Hybrid badger/boar fan
Lather: Wholly Kaw Man From Mayfair
    Post: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

Mail call from Delta Echo today, so giving a new razor a spin. DE does fine work, the finish is superb, and the Fat Boy functions just like it did in 1960 new out of the box. Started on 5 and finished there. First time out with a Fat Boy, but I've had a Slim for years. 5 works on the Slim, so it seemed the natural starting point. Razor ran fine throughout 3 passes, but I think there's room for improvement if I tinker with the settings. Also first time out for the LowBorn Supply handle/AP Shave Co. hybrid badger/boar. I've got a good feeling about this knot after the first outing :D. We'll see how it breaks in. I've really got to take some better pics of it, it's a gorgeous thing. The Krampert's Frostbite is my new favorite AS. Amazing face feel, and the cold slap is refreshing.

DFS- today, I still need to dial the Fat Boy in.

Fantastic looking razor! I've checked out those hybrid knots from APShaveCo. I'd very much be interested in a review after several uses, as I don't think I'd drop the $50 for the knot without some positive reviews first!

He may have a PHD, but I got an F + in enabling regarding my Block Soap. That means, I tried extra hard and STILL failed. OOPs, I put this with the wrong post-meant it for Clint's PhD.

@Drygulch, I just realized I didn' know what the "straight-shaving" weapon is....now that I saw it, I remember saying long ago that I might like to try that sometime, so I'll keep you in mind about that leather strop.

The Focus for me for the rest of this month is going to be this brush. I'd like to break it in as quickly as I can, so when I use a brush for the rest of the month, it's going to be this one. It was extremely well behaved out of the gate today, I think by the end of the month and it begins to break in, it's going to be a favorite.
