I might just balance Universal Karma by using Osage every shave for the rest of the month. I like it as a first AS, followed by another for a soap matching scent. Gotta ask Jared. Why did you toss it?
It's one of those inexpensive products in a big bottle. Potent stuff, too. A little goes a long way and is quite effective at giving the menthol chill. Might cost more to ship than buying local - check Ladies Beauty supply stores or put it on your 2B ordered list!
SEptember 17 SOTD: Rubberset 400 WSP Mahogany Boker King Cutter Stirling Unscented PSB WSP Mahogany AS Sometimes, I forget how satisfying a straight razor shave can be. Today was a great reminder. Two passes, and very near a BBS. Just a smooth shave with a great smelling soap and AS. This is my wife's new favorite scent, so it is fun to wear it with her around. We had a great service at church, and there were about 40 people in from other areas helping to rebuild. It was awesome to see. I hope everyone is having a great day!
September 17, 2017 Razor: Gem Featherweight Blade: Gem by Personna (2) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH I felt in a bit of a daring mood today and decided to break out a Gem razor. I've decided that part of my issue with this type of SE is getting the angle right. I managed to get a decent DFS, albeit with some heat from the alum and a bit of irritation under my jaw (a definite trouble area). The thing is... I seemed to get the best success by doing something which goes against everything I've read. According to the every Gem instructions I've ever seen, I should be keeping the cap flat against my face. Yet, for me, things seemed smoother if I actually lifted the cap off a bit and went more forward on the Safety Bar. What I don't understand is why this worked and was actually smoother since logic says I should be in face scraping territory?
Just a heads up...Barrister and Mann Petrichor was notoriously difficult to obtain. I found some locally here, and they still have a couple in stock: http://tampashavecompany.com/product/barrister-mann-diamond-petrichor-shaving-soap/ Hope this helps someone who's been looking for some...
Thank you Jim. I've had a great day. Just about time to suit up and ride home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17 SEptember Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 28mm Faux Finest Badger, Frank Shaving (FS) Soap: Lavender, Castle Forbes Razor: 1912 Brooklyn, GEM Blade: Treet (12) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Stetson AS Photo: So with some help from some friends I have found out that this razor is indeed a GEM 1912 Brooklyn. Some last minute chance in todays lineup left me with another DFS. Unfortunately I'm still chasing the baby with this razor. I'm oh so close though and the chase is half the fun
Great photo. What the Brut Dominate like? Great photo. Thater does make some handsome brushes. Fantastic photo Jim. Sounds like a wonderful day with family and friends. That's the technique I use with Gem razors. Great photo and razor.
Thank you. You picked the wrong guy to ask about scents. I either like it or I don't. I like this one. It is masculine and gets compliments. I asked my wife what she thinks of it and she likes it as well. She thinks it's masculine and the floral notes are very light. She likes the fact that it isn't sweet smelling. That's about the best I can give you.
