I broke my beloved Captains Bowl last month. I feel your pain. I bought one of the Turkish bowls, and they work just fine, and are cheap as chips (hat tip to TSR folks), but the weight of the brush tips the damn thing over. Just today I tipped it over straight into the sink and ruined a lather. My recommendation is: meh.

Day 2 of a split focus with shavettes and SEs, brought up my oldest SE, and also the one I've had the longest. I did a stint with the Gem types a while back, and they really never floated the boat for me. When I sold and PIFed them all off, I kept my favorite of them: this Junior.

Maybe I jinxed myself setting the Balm out for the picture before I shaved, or maybe I shouldn't have used a couple month old blade, but I got a little bit of irritation on my lower neck. I was gonna use a bit of the Balm just because it seems to carry the light lime scent a little longer than the splash, but it ended up a bit of a soother for my neck. Over all a solid DFS.

The knot on that brush pleasantly surprises me every time I use it. It isn't ultra dense, but even set at a fairly high loft, it has a little backbone to it. Nothing to brag about, but definitely NOT a flopper. And it has zero scritch. Some scrub, but not a scritchy hair in it. Brand? Virginia Sheng.

Tomorrow is Electric Sheep Sunday, and I believe in honor of our beloved sensei, I will shave with a Parker shavette and a Shark saloon blade.

This is as a nice setup for a travel shave. I'm off to one of my favorite mercantiles to pick up some more Ogallala Bay Rum. My wife is picking me up another bottle as an anniversary gift

    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G1
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
Post: Witch hazel with M-bomb, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man aftershave
    WTG, XTG

Stirling SEptember begins. Sharp Dressed Man today. First use of this scent and what a success. Terrific all the way around. The G1 injector was smooth and reliable as always. Time to relax and watch some football. The morning games so far have been boring, other than Texas trying to mount a comeback as I type this. Better games this afternoon and tonight. Roll Tide!

    Have a great weekend!
