The episode with the Coors truck is actually from season 8. I believe it was called something like Andy and Goober at the car show. It is funny how we have these preconceptions about what things look like then find out how different they really look when we see them in color.

 

Anyone who has 1000 of those awful, terrible blade shaped objects is obviously a masochist and needs to be examined by a professional mental health care specialist. He should probably send them to me for his own safety.

I sort of cheated today. Using my Ever Ready 1912 regularly so that I can get excellent, irritation free shaves made me think a little about my straight razors. So today, I used my 4/8 vintage razor for my first pass. I didn't want to do the full shave with the straight, so I did the second pass with the Ever Ready. I'm thinking if I actually committed to my straights that I'd get better results with them. I got a really excellent shave with a straight once--and I look at it like a hole in one in golf. I'm not sure how it happened or if I'll ever be able to repeat it.

Well, the right of passage came today. My 12 yr old son got tired of his ratty sideburns and neck hair, and asked me to teach him to shave. I whipped up some TOOBS (that's how I started) and armed him with a black handled flare tip and a GEM. Showed him how to use both, let him test them on his arm. He initially went with the Flare Tip when he finally moved to his face, but struggled with angle. After a couple of small weepers he picked up the GEM and it was a decided win for him. He is a SE guy at this point.

Another Tabac Tuesday. I used the Schick N with a twin blade. The N is a great razor like all the Schicks. It is not a favorite of mine though. The Semogue 208 worked great as usual.

 

Yea..the OCMM reminds me of my ex wife...all nice then all of a sudden...... you always gotta pay attention.
