Ever-Ready Shovel Head Razor Treet Super Carbon Blade Vintage Fuller Boar Brush Palmolive Shave Stick Dickinson's Witch Hazel Old Spice After Shave First time I'll be concentrating on using SE razors for a month. But I might use one of my Gillette Adjustables on Fridays, if I shave on those days that is.
I guess that's my cue to get this gizmo out. I've had it for a long time, but haven't gotten around to trying it. It's sort of a Christy-ish razor. Different head, but takes Christy blades. I do have a pack of nos Christy blades. I think I'd rather see if I can get something modern to work first though. I will not be using the blade that came in it for sure. I haven't even cleaned it yet, so it will not be today. There is a little info on the manufacturer here.
Some have had luck with injector blades in Christy types, generally there's not sufficient clamping pressure to hold a blade without duct tape and chewing gum but hey worth a go.
That razor looks familiar.....I think I might have seen it before Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
I was thinking more like a despined Gem. The top plate on this would only cover about the back 1/3 of an injector blade.
Injector blades are sufficiently rigid that they don't need to be clamped that close to the edge, they work beautifully in my DeHavens thus (but they are snugly held).

That was my choice for today also. Excellent shave from the G bar. I'm going with the clogpruf next to compare. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

SOTD September 2, 2018 A Stirling SEptember Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Proline Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: JR #60 synthetic Soap: Stirling Dunshire Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dunshire aftershave @Jayaruh recently called the Hawk a poor man's Mongoose. Never tried a Mongoose, but the Hawk is an efficient and capable artist club razor at an easy price point. I enjoy using it and today was right in line. Smooth and comfortable. Wonderful lather from the Stirling Dunshire soap and all came together nicely. Have a great day!
I was excited about this shave for a whole day, but not for the reasons you might think. Yes, Stirling grapefruit with menthol is awesome, and yes, the Shavemac D01 is getting broken in and scritch is disappearing, but the real excitement came from the old Torrey straight razor in the back that is probably worth less than five bucks on eBay. It’s a skinny blade, so I didn’t expect to like it, but today’s shave taught me that I really do. When I got it originally, it was totally ratted out. I sanded all the rust off, and restored it to a bit its former glory. Then I accidentally dropped it, and the scales broke at the pin - those will need to be replaced now. In the meantime, I purchased some stones and started learning to hone. I reset the bevel and got it sharp enough to shave with - barely - this morning, but I’ll probably need to send it off to @gssixgun to get it wickedly sharp once I put new scales on it. It’s a fun project, but it’s actually a special one too... the old ratty razor was given to me by my Father-In-Law; it was passed down from his grandfather to his father to him. He never took up straight shaving (nor did my brother in law), but when I started straight shaving he passed it on to me as a Christmas gift. After my first shave with it today, I’m excited that it’ll be a keeper that works it’s way into the rotation.
