Can't find pics of similar ones online really. It might be a very accurate soviet knockoff? Just a guess though, as i live only a few hours away from the border.

Stirling Sheep Single edge new Stone Straight September Surprise

Wow, didn't expect to wind up with the results I got today.

My first brand new straight is still one of my standard bearers for performance in edge forward shaving devices. It was honed at purchase on a Belgian coticule, made me look in this direction a little. I've read of the search others have gone through looking for 'their edge', now I understand better. For my final decision, it was going to be this one or a Suehiro 20k and my fav vendor didn't have a Suehiro in stock.

Took the Master Wonky Razor YZ for a drive on the new rock. I never thought I'd use a 'thumbpad test' on a razor, but I did. Found it to be useful indicator for me. After honing, I went to my pasted balsa strops... green, red, black, diamond, cBN, then roo.

Like I usually do on shave tool evaluations, Stirling Sheep ... no added scent, but I wouldn't say unscented. The aroma from mutton tallow is so easily overlooked when I think how much better the resultant lather is than 'anything' else I've used. To much cheering from the 'bloomaphobes', I didn't bother to ask for any help from the Exulted Blue Ming. I got by just fine with the Stirling badger on my own.

This crummy Chinese razor delivered a more comfortable shave than I ever thought I would get by my own hand on anything I honed. Quite rewarding, I must say. Now, because I failed to isolate my individual changes, I really can't totally credit the honing OR the stropping...... but I do like the result.

Splashed on the Stirling mentholated lime aftershave.... because I like the menthol, candy lime, alcohol and witch hazel.

    Great shave, great fun.

The VDH is a rebranded Weishi, however I am not certain that it is a Weishi 9306 model. With that said, the VDH is poorly constructed and should be sold for less than 10 dollars than the 15 retail price. It is a mild razor and I mainly use it as a touchup razor. However, since my focus is Safety September, I am using this razor in a 3 shave cycle before I move to my next razor. I have one more shave with it and then I have 3 razors that still haven't been picked.

The ZY is just a tiny step above a Gold Dollar. You can hone it to give yourself a nice shave. Glad you had success with your new ZY, Bill!

Wow, that's close. I have a few Soluna Open Comb razors. They are great shavers, especially loaded with a Feather blade.

I've decided to forget the PAA deal I was recently thinking about. Wm. Neumann is a bit of a savings(compared to PAA)for twice the amount of soap. (P.S., I did the Math).

From here it's around 250 miles to the PPI plant. :D
I haven't seen an open comb one, but there is a closed comb version for sale now on a finnish website.
