Just arrived here at camp Geiger about an hour ago just waiting to finish processing and get everything ready for the squad bay. Looking forward to getting a shave in soon. Managed to shave with some of my vintage old spice shave soap and aftershave before graduation a few nights ago. A few marines in my squad bay back at parris island wanted to see what the hype was all about so I let them get some lather from the shave soap and they seemed to really enjoyed it. They were like “this honestly makes shaving fun”
It put a little grin on my face. As far as my bootcamp experience. They changed the crucible and was made harder when I was around the 2nd phase mark of bootcamp. We were one of the early companies to complete the new crucible. Overall it was pretty hard but it was a lot harder for me. We were doing an obstacle the first day and I was on some guys shoulders attempting to get over a wall. Anyway the guy lost his footing and I fell off the wall and my foot folded under when I hit the ground. At first I thought I broke it but thankfully I didn’t. Putting pressure on it caused a lot of pain but I managed to see it through. Lots of prayer involved. Honestly one of the hardest things in bootcamp for me was land navigation. Really struggled with that stuff. Mostly because they threw us in the woods and we had to do it by ourselves.

Artie arrived 3 1/2 months and it probably would have been sooner if Yurii didn't have a medical issue. Therefore, 3 months sounds right and it would be right during the Christmas holiday.

It was good that you were ok because it would have sucked to get so close and not finish. They would have had to put you on hold if you broke anything and I guess you would have to finish with a new platoon. It would not be the same experience because you have been with your original platoon from day one and you built up a comraderie so that you would want to graduate with them.

I would say the entire Marine Boot Camp experience would be daunting. I have to admit at 19, I would not last the first week. Who am I kidding? At age 24, I was classified 4F by the Air Force.

I had a friend who broke 2 ribs. He graduated with us but he’s gonna have to stay behind 2 months to heal up before leaving for mct.

That's too bad about your friend. However, he will be taken care of during his 2 months of rehab and then go on to more training.

Yes, it is 1 AM and I just finished my shave. Sometimes, I just want to shave, regardless of the hour.
I have to say that this soap will never be thick, but it is slick. Again, I get a slight, pleasant, cologne scent off the puck, but I have to really sniff hard to get it. Needless to day, the scent does not get any stronger when lathering. In fact, it pretty is non-existant on the face, but I can get a whiff of it from the brush
Did 3 passes and touchups to get a BBS shave without errors. I usually only need 2 passes on a fresh Schick blade, but I think that I may have one more shave, maybe 2 before it gets banked. Finished with my usual postshsave scenario and ending with a generous portion of the matching aftershave. Still, I got very little scent and that is only by smelling my hands. In conclusion, GN Zaharoff Signature Series soap is a nice performing soap that needs plenty of water, but the scent strength is a disappointment. The aftershave is just like putting alcohol on your face with no scent. Again, I may have had a bad batch or my sinusitus just won't let me enjoy these items. Have a great day!
