Well, hopefully, I’ll be reducing those safety razor numbers in a week or two. Give people the opportunity to pick up some nice vintage safety razors for Christmas.

Pretty close, but I haven't paid close enough attention. I was noticing this morning that the pivoting head doesn't move much because I'm use to tracking the contours of my face. I will admit I am better with other razors that I practice with a little more.

Cool-looking razors, Paul! That Craftsman wouldn’t be the old Sears brand would it? Thanks for posting!

That's fantastic Gary! Although FedEx tracking system says that I should be getting my expected my soap and aftershave by 8 this evening, I highly doubt it will come to pass since it is after 6 PM. I will still be in tomorrow's 7 day (7 shaves for me beyond seven days) shave challenge and will use Stirling Spice SS and AS. It's a good replacement because it is also a cologne scent.

I am not surprised. Lol! I will be using my Mad Max and my blue handled tuxedo brush so I wanted a classic, clean, cologne scent. I will have to break in the Gentleman's Nod Zaharoff Signature soap and afttershave after this challenge.

I’’m a disaster with pivoting head razors. I tried two Genesis models and ended up looking like I’d gotten clawed in the face by the cat. The Broman went a bit better, but my total lack of experience with carts didn’t serve me well.

    G7DC Day 1

My anticipated inexpensive 'aggressive' DE head won't show till at least Monday, so I switched my focus to the Gillette New SC.

One of the reasons I originally dropped out of lurk mode to join TSD was the sound philosophy presented by the 30DC to sidestep shave gear variables and acquire skill. Largely, most of what I learned about wet shaving is was found here at The Shave Den. I am grateful to those who freely offered help to us newbies.

I had done a number of 30 day stints then applied the philosophy to learning edge forward shaving devices for 100 days.

The Gillette New is a dearly loved tool by many. I don't recall any bad shaves, but really couldn't ever find that 'love'. I realized that it was time to devote some time to this tool while I was using the guard-free DE-Vette.

My blade choice is also one that I never gave the proper time to Astra.

While a 'ride the cap' practice served me well in learning DE shaving, I had come to love the blade feel I got using adjustables opened up. It was time for me to learn 'this tool' much-mo-better.

    First shave up was great.
I usually grabbed this razor for 'the quick shave', today I gave lather and prep more attention. I also targeted a blade feeling rather than a 'ride the cap' or 'ride the guard'.

My ATG pass required more attention to the skin stretching I practice routinely open edge. Getting this close ATG lower neck would have left me uncomfortable at one time. I'm getting better.

The 30DC was loaded with activity by newbies like me when I showed up. Maybe less so now. I view @brit Gary's Challenge as a catalyst that may drop a few fly-overs out of lurk to join in and focus on basics with us. Thanks Gary. I realize that after graduating from the @jluc School of Photographic Excellence your pics gave become 'high falutin' but maybe you can bring back a few of the model cars for the nostalgia of it.

one soap brand/base,one brush type and one razor, just to help with consistency.loose rule/tight focus.more of a group effort to honor the thread's roots.use something that you struggle with or haven't dialed in yet,and something to tie us in with similar discussion.we are are all on a learning path .sounds pretty rose colored glasses right?.
