Although the brush knot isn't your favorite, the handle looks terrific! :happy088:

Same stuff, new blade, new flavor.

Not being of an Excaliburistic nature, today's shave further convinces me that I like fresh sharp steel.

3 'blade aware' passes and the menthol grapefruit aftershave is refreshing.

No pursuit of that BBS Level 5 either. Just pure comfort, pure enjoyment.

While I was loading up that fresh Astra, that new low cost 'Aggressive' DE head was staring me down.

Unlike certain TR6 aficionados, Max Headroom stayed strong and true to focus, and didn't jump the fence for just any old shine & glittering thing.

I did out of curiosity see how much 'blade feel' my sampling of my 3 piece DE's by laying them on my arm. Here is my ratings most to least.
    Stirling Aggressive
    Merkur 20c
    Gillette New Short Comb
    Edwin Jagger DE89

This was a bit enlightening because many writings proclaim the Merkur (20c is supposed to be common geometry in brand) offerings to be the same as the EJ DE89.

I've long thought the DE89, to be a very challenging tool to use with a very narrow window for hitting optimum shave angle.

Can it be said that a 'mild' razor requires more skill than an 'aggressive' one? Is the bragging of experienced wetshavers, like me, using adjustables 'opened up' an easier way to better shaves and not much-mo-badass shaving? I'll find out as I move through other 30DC style focuses with this gear.

    jluc smelling pretty

    Thanks, Joe!
I'm with you, Bill. 'Mild' razors require better angle control. If I find and maintain the angle that allows the blade to contact skin and maintain that angle throughout each stroke I'll get the same result regardless of which razor I'm using.
