As I shave my head and face with the same flavour of the day, I usually find they are done after one use. Sometimes I try for a second, but am rarely pleased.

 

I have to say it, Myles. I was young and stupid, and I tell these stories to poke fun at myself.

Thankfully, you are much, MUCH smarter than me.

I know you do things the right way. Safety comes first when you're behind the wheel. There's too much at stake, and you won't always get a second chance to do the right thing. I'm much safer these days. My Bride is usually with me, and she's watching traffic too.

The concept of skill and the components related to the shave are subjective, relative to each individual. The choice of razor along with the skills developed to achieve an excellent shave are unique to each person. However, specific razor styles with certain attributes may help someone sidestep some required skills to achieve a particular result.

fair enough.they are cheap enough for the one and done ..longevity not a big requirement for you then..vintage spoilers the most expensive, yellows and greens the cheapest.nacets are are bargain at present..

I recall Tim absolutely hated his DE89. He may have given it away, but it would be interesting to hear his thoughts today after his 100 days in shavette boot camp.

I am now viewing the mild DE89 as a challenge I need to conquer.

I looked hard at the Feather AS-D2...... Many, many times. To get that VBBS, are extra passes required? How much pressure?

Thinking about it, I'm going Feather blades on that one. Or should I use Derby just to prove I can.

As far as getting a break on 6 days vs 7, I'm gonna need to check with the accounting dept for a ruling. We can clearly forget any clemency from the shenanigans division. Besides your already needy clutch wouldn't make it to 3rd and you both would be walking home.

Yes, that was the co-pay. I have few medical expenses (my preventive stuff is covered at 100%, and my out-of-pocket drug cost is negligible), so this was atypical for me. Thankfully, my Bride and I have very good insurance that covers the vast majority of our expenses. We gave my Bride's policy a real road test over the past few months.

 

It makes very good sense to take diagnostic tests to determine you health status! Now, you have a sense of relief that is priceless. Of course, I only go to doctors when it's absolutely necessary. The good Lord has given me divine health and I am forever grateful. After spending plenty of dollars on car repairs, I finally was able to get my car inspected this morning. Now, my next phase is to see a dentist to get my smile restored. I have to shop around and ask about different strategies. I live near a dental school so that may be the least expensive route for me. However, the downside is that they are very thorough, but they drag out the work as compared to a private dental practice.

 

I've always thought it would be fun to take a driver's skill course on a closed track where they cover Rockfords. My Bride would overrule it, though. She's much smarter than me. Seems that most people are smarter than me...

empty parking lot on ice at slow speeds with a guy who knows is a good start..gets one used to directing shifting weight..then rain .then dry..of course i drive like an old lady these days..

It got killed in a ratings war when time slots were juggled around. It was really advanced stuff for its day. The episodes can be found on the internet. Matt Frewer had incredible off-the-cuff talent.

Another fave of mine that died young was The Pretender, complex multiple subplots and stories. The estrogen units here gifted me all the DVDs.

David, that's the norm for headshavers. With any of the Russian blades, I begin to feel tugging near the end of the second use. I routinely bin most of my DE's after two shaves, with the exception of Sunekos where I've had as many as ten shaves on the same blade before binning, although the average is about five or six.

 

I like to use Feather blades in the AS-D2. I can get the BBS level with two passes generally. The Feather is the blade the razor was designed for, and it does an amazing job. I should shave with it more often, but I say that now a lot about many of my safety razors. I hope Tim is Ok as well. We haven't heard from him in some time. He dropped off just as Covid was spiking in CA. I sincerely hope he wasn't infected.
