All right, I'll try it with your commentary in mind. I could see how the Dorcos pivoted well, but it drove me nuts to simply snap the blade in place. That's why I like the disposeABLES. Thanks, Mr. Cawtuh.

Oh, I should have recalled your dislike of the snap components.

    Shave freedom! Go for it.

Thanks, Andrew! This was the first time my mug shave seemed smoother than the dome shave. Have to wait and see!

    Razor: GEM Micromatic
    Blade: GEM Personna PTFE (6)
    Brush: Yaqi Tuxedo
    Soap: TOBS Peppermint
Aftershave: Body Shop Macca Root & Aloe

I've actually been using my SE razors for several weeks now. I have devised a way to maximise comfort and efficiency with my GEM style razors! I use the blade in my EverReady 1912 for the first 2 shaves - this seems to safely tame the edge. I then run it in the Micromatic for 3 shaves before tossing it. I went to a 6th shave tonight... Not quite as good a result - a little tuggy and a couple of small weepers. I've been rewarded wuth exceptional 2-pass shaves with this approach (so far)!

Regarding my Schick G - I have noticed that it is no longer clamping the blade as firmly as it once did. Is there a way to remedy this, or is it doomed?

    Enjoy your shaves gents!
