Good idea! Lime might be worth a try too as lemon might bleach your hair a bit if you leave it in too long.

Now that I'm thinking, I think it's Mystic Waters that also sells scented vinegar rinses.

Thanks but that will not work for me. I will still smell it.

Well, I tried my first shampoo bar today. So far, so good. My chronically itchy scalp has not been this itch-free in years.

I got it from GoatsMilkSoapCreations.com.au It's an Australian company, but they were willing to ship to the US. I really liked their ingredients.

Goat's milk is very good for the hair and skin. Glad to hear you're getting good results.

Rose of Sharon Acres (link above somewhere) also adds Goat's Milk to their bars.

Thanks. I will probably check their shampoo bar out at some point (unless I can figure out how to make it myself.)

    Ur welcome.

I like them and Chagrin Valley a lot. CV seems to have a ton of variations. Worth looking at their site even if you don't buy. Lotsa good info.

Very nice reviews, thanks. I have very long (ponytail length) hair and have just recently started using shampoo bars because I shampoo every day, and decided to try something a little milder. The first one I used was J.R. Liggetts, which I liked a lot, but I found one made by The Soap Works at a local Rainbow Blossom store. Much cheaper, $2.29 versus $5.99, and it works great.

    Here's their website: http://puresoapworks.com/bar_soap.htm

I took a look. The have a conditioner bar I may try. Those are harder to find, than shampoo bars. They have pretty good ingredients, but do not use goat milk, which I really like in the shampoo.

The CV conditioner bar is really an "all-in-one"... shampoo and conditioner. I've used it and my hair didn't care for it. But, maybe you'll have better luck than I.

J.R.Liggetts was the first shampoo bar I tried. I like the results and the travel kit is super convenient to pack.

Please let me know how you get on with the shampoo bar Sara, my wife has had an itchy scalp for some time now and is eager to try anything that will stop it.
    Many thanks.

I'd say it's a little soon to tell, having only used it twice. But, I have had a itchy scalp problem since my teens and this is the best I have felt in forever. My husband noticed that the redness that usually appears around my hairline is almost gone. So I am going to keep using this bar until it is gone & then try a couple of other brands. I will post updates as I have more info.

I liked the J.R. Liggetts too, but my cheap,er, I mean, frugal side likes The Soap Works more!
