I'm not sure it's exactly a shampoo bar. It just says Shea Moisture Shea Butter soap with Orange Peel. It did a fantastic job of cleaning my face so I decided to try it on my hair. I'm quite pleased. I found them @ Walgreens.
Let me know how you like them. I'm always looking for a backup alternative to Mike's as his supply is infrequent to say the least
My Chagrin Valley samples showed up today! I'm excited to try them out. First impressions: Ayurvedic Herb smells a bit medicinal, but not bad. Herb Garden smells a little woody, kind of like a forest. Neem, oh neem. A little backstory, where I grew up playing in the forest was the only thing to do, and I have some great memories there. Also, my dad used to work for a lumber company, and the woody smell of Neem takes me back to some of the happiest memories of my life. I can't wait.
I'll be interested to hear what you think. I've used all the ones you mentioned and it was the neem that I thought was too "fragrant."
Haha, well we shall see! Richgem, I'm doing this per your recommendation. I only feel bad because I've waited so long to pull the trigger.
West Coast Shaving has just restocked its D.R. Harris Shampoo Bars. I just ordered one. Come in a tin. Nice!
I couldn't wait until the next morning when my shampoo bars came in, so I took a swing at the Herb Garden right away. I used it again for yesterday's morning shower (it's Saturday so I'll stay greasy until after I mow). My impression so far? I am in love. There's not a ton to really say about them. I mean, just like any bar of soap, it does what it says, but I am quite happy with the smell, the texture, and how my small amount of hair feels after. I already cut my hair pretty short as it's starting to thin out, but I understand these bars can help reverse that process. The three bar samples I got are specifically in the section of Chagrin Valley's site to remedy hair loss - http://www.chagrinvalleysoapandsalve.com/helpchoose/choose-shampoo/hair-loss/ so I look forward to the possibilities, especially after Richgem's testimony. I'm happy that it's not just more chemicals to soak into my skin. The herb garden's scent is enjoyable. I caught a whiff of it later in the day, and I was pleased. Overall, I'm quite happy. I already have a feeling I'll be getting a full size bar once I figure out which I like most.
Used their Savon #1 Shampoo Bar a few times now. Very nice. The scent is mosty of Lavender & Rosemary, mild and pleasant. It soaped up quickly and left my hair feeling soft and smooth. Bar was large so I cut it in half.
I was being conservative at first, worried that I might burn through my samples, but these bars are resilient! Plus, because I have three different types, I am excited to use them so that I can move on to the next. I'm 100% certain I'll be buying a full bar once I'm done with these samples.
That D. R Harris Shampoo Bar was expensive $11 and small 50Grams. It comes in a metal travel tin, which is nice. No matter, it's way too EXPENSIVE!!
I've been washing my hair with Dalan Olive oil soap exclusivly for the last 2 years....My scalp hasn't been in this good shape in years...This stuff rocks, I recommend it. Dalan is the same Turkish company that makes that great shaving cream...but their olive oil soap is my favorite shampoo these days.
