It doesn't seem to matter what soap I use with this brush it just works. A 3 pass shave with a touchup and all is well for a DFS.

Shave Den Sunday July 24: Stirling Synthetic Brush TSD Lanolin English Fern Kinfolks "The Ace" Stirling Unscented PSB TSD English Fern AS
My second day with a straight. This lovely implement of manliness is thanks to the work of @HolyRollah (*) : Soap and A/S are both TSD London Type For Men. Brush is my Kent Synthetic SR is Unknown Maker Schick Hydro-Magic w/ fresh Personna (Ted Pella) Yesterday was quite awkward shaving with the SR. Today was a bit better. I ventured down on my neck a bit, and ended up shaving one pass with the SR everywhere except the chin. I can't say that it was a good pass all over, but I survived. One weeper on the neck. I re lathered and made a second pass on my cheeks with the SR. At which point I said to my self, "It's going well so far, just stop and be happy. You loaded a new injector blade in the hydro-magic, so just be patient and put down the SR!" So still have the training wheels on, but the Schick is a nice shaver in it's own right. I had some razor burn on my neck, which was more apparent once I rinsed and started gliding the alum block around. Waited a few minutes, rinsed again and patted dry before dosing up on some TSD London Type A/S. Unless I get a early start one morning, most likely will not SR shave till Friday. Ended up with a CCS, and a a bit of progress in the SR curve. Have a great day TSDer's! (*) http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/new-scales-for-barbersurgeon.52241/

SOTD July 31, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick Adjustable Injector Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic Lather: TSD Tabac-type (sample) Post: Witch hazel splash, Mennen Skin Bracer, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG The Tabac-type soap from TSD provided exceptional lather for a great shave. The Schick Adjustable was on setting 5 and provided a smooth shave. Upon news of the TSD Shop closing I went ahead and purchased some more soaps and aftershaves. I will continue to post them here on Sundays until my supply runs out! Thanks @Douglas Carey for continuing to encourage and support this Sunday thread! Have a great day folks!
Sunday Shave Brush- Semogue 620 Razor- Ever-Ready 1924 Blade- GEM Soap- Stirling Barbershop Post Care- Crystal Alum Thayers Witch Hazel Osage Rub Bombed Florida Water My first shave with the 1924 and I'm very impressed. I had a hard time getting the blade to stay put but I adjusted the clips in the head and it held firm. Three passes today and I couldn't be smoother. I think the hair may have recessed a bit out of fear of this razor. Very efficient with wonderful blade feel and very audible feedback. I highly enjoyed this shave. I'm still trying to figure out the 620, I think I'm loading it too dry. I had a fairly thin lather when usually the Stirling is nice and thick. There are many differences between this brush and my synthetics, I just need to spend more time with it. Once I get it loaded with the proper amount of soap it feels good on my face and produces a nice lather. The alum was barely noticeable and the finish of Osage Rub and bombed Florida Water might be my favorite. Have a great day folks!
