I make my own pre shave oil. I mix equal parts of grape seed oil and olive oil then put essential clove oil in for a nice scent. I picked up the clove oil at Whole Food Market for next to nothing. It works really good.
Thanks. I might give that a try when I'm out of shave secret. I do like the shave secret, but it would be nice to have something to compare it to or to have another option if they quit making it.
Most aftershave balms can be used as moisturizers. I use Nivea Classic AS balm even on days I don't shave.
I find it works well enough for me. I have gotten to where I put it on even if I don't shave. It is really light with no greasy feeling, so it seems to work well for me. I haven't put any other moisturizer on my face since I started using it.
Thanks. Thanks. I will order some and see how it works for me. I also looked at the Stirling pre shave oils and they are very reasonably priced. I did some calculations and depending on how much jojoba oil they use, I'm not sure I could make it for that.
Only almond oil, no castor? I might try that first then since it would be hard to mess up that recipe.
I tried Shave Secret when I began Wetshaving. It does work pretty well, but the HEAVY HEAVY clove scent that stays on you seemingly forever turned me off of it...I like Cloves in food, but not on me at strength to knock you over -- I PIF'd it awhile back.
