Williams Wednesday SOTD 3.28.2018 Brush: Barbury's synthetic Soap: Williams Razor: Schick Krona Blade: Feather (unk number of shaves) Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Nivea Men Sensitive PS Balm, Aqua Velva AS
Williams does it again. Proraso Pre Shave Williams Mug Jayaruh #271 Rolls CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Florida Water I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #271 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Rolls Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Wonderful shave today before work. ( well technically yesterday) my favorite 1912 and a treet blade. The Vie Long horse was great and the Adidas Pulse finished up nicely!!
@wchnu I see you got some of that adidas dynamic pulse, for the price it aint bad. I like it, and will buy some more. You keep talong about these Treet blades, I suppose I will have to try them. I can get the cvs blades local, but not the treet blades. I will order them. As far as the Williams goes, I'm looking forward to tying it with my new synthetic brush tomorrow.
Ok, so I just had to try Williams soap. Mainly because it generates such extreme polarity between the supporters and the detractors. Those who like Williams will defend it tooth-and-nail, and those who do not like it will denigrate it at any opportunity. No middle ground, it seems. So I splurged and dropped the $1.19 for a new puck (and was also nicely PIF'd a puck). Throw caution to the wind and see what all the fuss is about. After about a dozen shaves I must say, THIS STUFF AIN'T BAD!! No, it's not Stirling or B&M, and I didn't go in with any preconceived notions that it'd be at that level. But it certainly punches above its weight class, for a buck-nineteen soap. Lather is quick and dense with and old Rubberset boar. Post-pass slickness is great, actually, leaving enough protection to do some touching up and buffing. Scent is faint soapy and doesn't interfere with any AS scents. All in all, a winner of a soap that's now in my rotation. I don't see why there's all the fuss about Williams. The stuff just flat-out works. Now, off to the morning shower and shave, to utilize some of that Williams I was so complimentary about...
It's Williams Wednesday boy's. I've got 3 1/2 day's worth of stubble to mow down with my 1955 Red Flare Tip later this morning. I think I'll follow it with a splash of the Aqua Velva Ice Blue. My Semogue SOC Boar brush works well with modern Williams. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Today i used menthol Williams mug soap (bombed). It gave really nice lather. Its abundance was remarkable.
Williams Wednesday This soap never lets me down. As a reminder, I use the Vintage Williams Project method with my vintage pucks. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/the-vintage-williams-project.45842/ Worth trying.
Nice shave setup Primo. Save that English Leather cap and have JR make you a brush handle out of it. He made a really nice one and posted pics of it in the shaving brush section. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Wow", that is funny. They make a really nice handle. Jim really does some nice work. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Welcome to the club. Williams is simply a working mans soap. If you look for bells and whistles you will not find them. But the stuff is good solid shaving soap. Now get your hands on a vintage cake. Woooooo even better!! That is a veddy classy set up. Do you add much of the Mbomb? You can find them on the bay some. They want stoopid (in my opinion) money for them though. Sometimes a junk store will have one I hear. I do not anyone that got one that actually still has the menthol feel. You will have to add some probably.
My Williams Wednesday shave. 1910 did a great job along with the Semogue boar. The Citrus Musk is really nice!
