I use Williams as a leather cleaner for strop restoration. The tallow seems to soften and condition leather. As for shaving lather; I'll pass.
Actually, the more I use it, the more I like it. Williams takes a little bit of work to get a good lather, but it's not hard to master. It's not the slickest soap out there, so I will not use it for SR shaving. However, it works just fine for DE and SE shaves. This thread has set me on a Williams buying bing. I now have 11 pucks in the den and they were only 59 cents each!
I once knew a guy that swore it was good for nothing other then his wife to use with the laundry. Binge away... wooo
Went with the classic old school shave today Williams, Aqua Velva, 65 Gillette SS, and Gentleman Jon and I must say it went great! Either I'm really just not that picky or this soap gets some very unnecessary shade. I didn't have any lathering problems with it at all. It did a great job of providing slickness and protection. I was hesitant to try this stuff until @wchnu was nice enough to PIF me some I read about it watched videos on lathering it then it was as easy as any soap I have to lather. The scent is a little lacking and it clogged my razor a couple of times but at a dollar a puck it's fine. Is this my favorite soap no will it stay in rotation absolutely. Hey it's kinda what I do.... I use it with open blades often. No problems at all. Glad it worked out! Welcome to the club!
So once again we make to that most important of days in the world of the Fuzzy one..... Williams Wednesday!!!! Come join in the fun and have a shave with the goodness of Williams.
I usually give a heads up. I will do better on the cheer leading. Lol. Sooooo. I think I am getting the hang of the Ace Synthetic knot in the JR #137. No issues at all today!
