Shaving Advertisements

After seeing some vintage ads posted in various threads, I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we could share some of those vintage ads.

Mods, if there's a copyright infringement, I'll surely refrain. Just to be on the safe side, I'll stick with ads for defunct products and companies.

Anyway, here's a few that I enjoyed looking at. Please feel free to post any interesting vintage ads that you have found.

 

That's an interesting razor. I've never heard of the Curley Razor before today.

 

My Ex-SWMBO found it at a flea market. It's frame back design, might even have a removable/replaceable blade. The guard flips to either side for "safe" straight razor shaving. Not sure but it may be one of the first Safety Razors. Lacking honing skills or stones I've not shaved with it.

Did you see the price of the stahly? That must have been the equivalent of $200 today!

 

Closer to double that. In 1941 the average annual income was $1450.

Here's a few more...

 

They recommend that you draw the edge of your straight razor between your thumb and your finger! Well, I guess you only do that once!

 

Any idea when this advertising was published? That's the case my Stahly came in and it would be nice to know the year.
