You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. ;)

    As for the topic.

    1. Caswell-Massey creams and soaps
    2. US Gillettes
    3. The Flint Edge SC and AS - smells like turpentine
    4. Clubman Lilac Vegetal

You haven't smelled the Godrej shaving round.

Another member was nice enough to hook me up with one, gratis, and while it lathered well, it smells like a mixture of Indian Palmolive cream - no treat in and of itself - and urinal cake. Not pleasant. My wife makes me store it in the guest bathroom.

    Tim

Dorco Blades: Might as well as break a glass and shave with that.

Classic Shaving brand soap: It's way too much work to get a good lather. As much as I love the website it pains me to include this.

Stephan is ok; Masters is my fav., blows Clubman out of the water.

Bigelow's, which I think only comes in the form of an ASB, is a joke.

But, of course, Clubman original is so dynamite, it blows every splash out of the water.

    With respect to scent.

Now that it's getting hot I'm all about menthol.

The problem with all of these "Products to Avoid" threads is that they are all so subjective. There are only a few pretty much universally panned products...so, you have to take all these recs with a grain of salt...

    As for me:

    1. QED Violetta (the fragrance oil burned the hell out of my face)
    2. QED Bay Rum (same here, reminded me too much of cinnamon candies)
    3. Proraso Aloe & Green Tea (just don't really care for it. Didn't lather well)
    4. Palmolive Original (From India). Tim (TBoner) sent them to me and i thought they smelled awful...and they had to go. Someone else is enjoying them, so that's good.
    5. Taylor Rose (Learned very quickly I don't like rose scents)

I find Masters Bay Rum disgusting. I bought it for the second time recently (first was a couple years ago) to see if my chemistry had changed enough to like it.
Played around with it. Mixed it with other stuff....
Gave up and threw it out. Life is too short.
Went through Clubman's Virgin Island Bay Rum in like two weeks of playing around. Love it. Closest place they have it is an hour away. Typical...
(Anyone in the Albany, NY area know of somewhere closer?)

Have you got a Walgreen's nearby? They seem to carry it in most of their stores.

I agree that Walgreen's is the place to go, but around here, it's hit or miss. I know of three that have it among about 20 I've checked. Those 3 are actually in wealthier parts of town, especially old money areas. May be coincidence, but in the middle-class and working-class suburbs, no dice. I've only ever seen it at Walgreen's and a couple of barber supply shops.

Exactly. Some Walgreens here have the Bay Rum and the Lilac, others just the classic - the best one!

HAHA, here it's the poorer areas...

Here it tends to be the upper crust stores and the ones that get the most foot traffic. If you see a ghetto Walgreens carrying VDH and Clubman Bay Rum, it's got to be pretty damned busy.
