  3. I switched to Synthetics nearly completely. Not that i sold all my other brushes (Silvertip and Boar), but with a Synthetic it is SO much easier creating lather than with all my other brushes. You get the desired consistency of your lather EVERYTIME with no effort. Synthetics have changed it completely for me.

Tried to use my Silvertips now and then, but the lather was MUCH better with a synthetic brush.
  4. Exactly this. I can get 95% there with a boar or badger, but it to requires double the soap and takes twice as long. Honestly the only reason I still have boars, horses and badgers is because I've been too lazy to list and sell them. I'll may keep one of each just for when I'm playing around and get a random rogue desire to use natural hair... but that's rather rare, at this point. 98% of the time, when I just want the best possible no nonsense shave, it's always synthetic.
  5. Sounds like I'm odd man out.
I prefer badgers for creating the lather and face feel.
    But that's me.
  6. “It’s your shave”….and what’s the second part to that? :)
  7. @BamaT
Thanks. Guess even I need to hear that every once in awhile.

  8. You've got some company. I greatly prefer either boar or badger (finest or silvertip) to synthetic for the same reasons.
  9. You really coined a great phrase with that.

  10. I just used my first synthetic brush today.
I loved it. So soft and yet strong enough to spread the soap nicely. I can see it becoming my favorite (I only have 1 other, a badger brush, which I like.)
  11. Glad you liked it. Nice to see another one enjoying a Synthetic.

Please keep us updated in your experiences using a Synthetic brush. Tell us your thoughts and impressions. It will be fun and interesting to read.

  13. You're not alone ........ though I enjoy making and using every type and style of brush I keep reaching for my badgers the most. For myself I like the natural feel of a badger brush.

  15. Frankly, I'm not sure. It was sent to me by a friend and it's been refurbished.

  16. That´s true…the face-feel of a natural badger brush is completely different. I love the feeling too. I use my badger brushes from time to time but i ´ll stick with my Synthetics. For me it seems that i need less soap to whip up in my desired consistency.

I'm not sold on the "...We'll make it special" part. Just sayin'.

  18. I have a question and maybe i will find the answer here…

Would like to buy the PAA Solar Flare. This Brush has a white Cashmere knot in it. Now to my question…does anyone know, if this knot is the same as i would get at AP Shave Co? They have a Cashmere knot and it looks quite similar. So just in case i would buy the Solar Flare and would like the knot, so i know where i can get the knot to glue it in in another handle.

    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings
    Thorsten
