I was in Central Park today...took about 30 pics..i think only 2 per worth a dime..Still need to play around with this a bit..
Here is a morning of shooting some New England fall color, the "old fashioned" way. Leica MP, 35mm F/2 Summicron ASPH, Fujichrome Velvia Leica MP, 50mm f/2 tabbed Summicron, Fujichrome Velvia Leica M6, 90mm f/2 Hexanon-M, Fujichrome Velvia Leica M6, 21/4 Voightlander, Fujichrome Velvia
Thanks! Lol, that was the most difficult one to get. I met up with a group of members from the rangefinderforum for a fall shoot, in the pre-dawn darkness, in some parking lot in northern CT. We were driving along a scenic route as the sun was coming up, and it hit this barn just right. I just hope the owner was still asleep, or else he'd have seen a bunch of crazy guys on his front lawn. Velvia gives some very interesting, saturated colors, as you can see in the sky in the background. This was just a straight slide scan, no post-processing and no filters.
Thanks! Yes, it's hdr with washed-out colours. This week I went hiking with friends in one of the few places in southern France where you can still get lost and flee society. First we went to a place where nature takes back. It may not be obvious, but in some photographs the trees literally grow on rocks. Here I was waiting for some elves or unicorns to show up. Finally, yesterday, we went visiting the ruins of an old castle. The atheist I am may now believe God exists. I also got fed up with hdr and did not use it for the following series of photographs: The same with washed-out colours:
Stunning photos Yukio , were they mostly shot with the 10-20mm? Do you use any kind of circular polarizer?
Yukio.... You truly have an amazing eye..and great skill with processing. I hope to one day achieve this kind of work...highly doubt it though
Truckman, glad to be of service. I can even send you the full-resolution photograph if you wish so. Neale, yes, I exclusively used the 10-20mm, which is my favourite lens for everything non-human. And no, I did not use any polariser filter, though one would have been helpful to get clearer reflections on the water. I should buy one. Isaac, the “eye” comes with practice. You should see my very first pictures…
Thanks Yukio, that lens is high on my list. We woke up to bit of the white stuff......only a few inches but looked cool stuck to all the trees.
