I've ditched the Lagdroid for Windows Phone 8 There is one app I miss though But not enough for me to go back to android or especially Samsung.
I love that even with phones it's all about YMMV Me, I'm a combo iPhone-Samsung Galaxy Note II user and both are 'ok'. I do love NFC on my Samsung though and use it all the time to read my Clipper card my just swiping it in front of the phone, etc and the ease of rooting it so I can add things like full-edge screen wrappers, backup of data and apps, etc, etc Window's mobile deployment is rather nice though and may eventually have to get one. Just not a big fan on Win8 still and on my touch-screen laptop I never use the tiles
I've seen an interesting article about the reasons for legginess coming from a google dev- http://lazytechguys.com/news/google...terface-is-laggy-while-ios-wp7-qnx-are-fluid/ In regards to Samsung I just have too much bad experience with them and Korean designed/made products that I would never purchase anything by them again. But yes same with shaving- YMMV. I wouldn't use any French stuff and plenty of people like French soaps. I'm in the market for a desktop. I don't have the money for another Mac right now so it's either Windows or Linux. I'm torn between them. But yeah I'm not so sure about the Windows desktop environment... the integration with Windows phone would be pretty seamless and convenient but idk about that faux mobile screen and all the viruses.
I'm 'forced' to be a dual-user when it comes to computers as well - Mac OS and Windows. The Windows laptop I use these days is a Lenovo Flex 15. It's has a multi-touch screen, i5 processor, runs Win 8 and it 'flips'/folds the screen which becomes surprisingly useful when using the touch screen. I picked it up for around $500. I like open source OS as well but I tried getting into using Ubuntu back in the days but just couldn't... I also missed true compatibility with MS Office suite products which is something I unfortunately need (well, it makes things easier). Let me know how you like your Windows phone after using it for a month or so.
was it a samsung galaxy nexus? I had a lot of problems with mine the last few months before upgrading.
Samsung Galaxy SII. In addition to the lag it had a "sticky" power button where it would endlessly turn on and off again. That happened to my sister's Galaxy SII also. Easy fix but it doesn't give me confidence in Samsung. Additionally, sometimes it crashed completely and I had to take the battery out and in general the interface was just laggy. Fast when it worked but lots of hiccups. My sister also just had her Galaxy S4 replaced under warranty. It failed to fully boot up. My old Samsung feature phone was the definition of laggy too (Gravity T). My parents had to get a new fridge a few years ago- yup it was Korean (LG). The repairman sent by Bestbuy said in his experience, Korean quality is worse than Chinese. The cost to repair it was more expensive than replacement so Bestbuy gave my parents a credit. Luckily they actually bought the extended warranty. That's just part of why I would never buy anything Korean again.
Just ditched my iPhone 5S in favor of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. I have not regretted. Just as fast (user experience, I have not benched them..) and the Sony experience with Android is far from Samsung and HTC's, IMHO, horrible user interfaces. I might try a bare Android someday. I'm stuck with Sony for the moment as I need/want super performance, but I don't want a larger screen. I think anything over 4" is too much, so the Z1C's 4.3" actually bugs me compared to the iPhone 5S, but I'm getting used to it. No bigger though.
Google "how to screenshot (name of your phone)" it's usually holding 2 buttons. Mine is home and lock button. Old phone was hold volume and lock button
And a gorgeous mamma but yeah, I sat him down and gave him the run down on shaving, but he gave me a blank stare...
