Did anyone hear about that veteran who bought a Rolex in the 70's for $345, never wore it, and now its worth $700,000? https://www.insider.com/antiques-roadshow-veteran-learns-rolex-is-worth-700000-video-2020-1
I don't know where the guy came up with those numbers but you'd never see me paying that much for a watch. That being said there are people out there who have money to burn and would snap it up in a heartbeat. What a world we live in.
I agree! Even if I could afford it, I would never pay that much for a watch - I could get several cars and still donate most of it, for example.
I got my wife a Shinola for our 20th Anniversary in December. She had mentioned once that to own such a watch was a bucket list item for her. #hubbypoints I had to sell some razors, but it was worth it!

I do think you will be as impressed as I was. The instructions for how to unwind the crown are at the bottom of the page. After setting the time, I did have to push down while screwing downward a bit.
If you opt for a Nato band, 22 mm is the size. Mine cost $8. Movement: https://www.esslinger.com/miyota-watch-movements-citizen-ltd/
I bought a cheap Chinese self winding once. Looked great, diver style, kept accurate time and was happy with it.......for about 6 weeks then it quit. What to do? I finally epoxied it to the sidewalk where I could see it and watched as people tried to pick it up. Cheap fun for a cheap watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
