  [*]Result: A great comfortable and smooth shave. These GEM by Personna blades seem to be doing the trick for me in the GEM razors. Of course the 1907 GEM is my favorite. Need to order some of the blades from Giovanni soon.

  [*]Result: A quick 2 pass shave today. Real close but not BBS. The DuraSharp is some blade for sure and the NEW did its usual great job. The TSD cream is nice and makes a great lather but I like the SCS Smoke & Beads better than this Patchouli. Still JoAnna makes some great scented and lathering creams.

 

first DE shave

Surprisingly, Canada Post delivered my package on a sunday.

I've been wet shaving for a long time (sensor excel + can goo + old spice [I'm addicted to the burn]) and ran into the end of my excel blades and decided to go for the DE thing.

the setup:

conditioner in the 4-day beard
hot shower
hot towel
Edwin Jagger Sandalwood soap
Weishi DE classic + Derby
No-name brush (I'm working on it)
Old spice A/S

I was a little hesitant at first... first pass went ok, but not very smooth (but no cuts!) followed by a second against the grain.

Result?

BBS on everything but the chin. Little burn on the A/S, no razor burn. All and all.. very pleasant. Time to feed the soap/AS addiction and get myself a good brush. I was worried the Weishi would be too 'mild' but hell, seems to be working for me just fine! Nice way to start a Sunday.
