Six Month Commitment

I'm just starting this DE adventure and can let me ocd loose!

 

Oh it will happen................

 

I wish you well with your goal. I myself have been toying with a no-buy 2015. I remember my little grand daughter going through the store pointing to things and saying, "Don't need it, don't need it, don't need it, ..." That is the way I feel right now. I have plenty of hardware and software. Although, I traded my MWF for a Schick Krona last year, and I may replace it. But, I really can do without it, it would just be nice to have it on hand.
I don't have as much as some, but I have plenty (Jayaruh's Shave Den ). I am currently rotating through 15 different soaps and creams. So I am using each twice a month.

 

I think it was a good trade. Although readily available, there are fewer nice Kronas out there today and MWF is readily available. Now if we were talking Irisch Moos...............

Yeah, it may be the smart thing to do. But if I encounter a once-in-a-lifetime deal (or just something nice... ) I still may be tempted to pull the trigger.

Perhaps it's just best to not search for deals and stay off of Ebay and such. If I don't see the once-in-a-lifetime deal, I shan't miss it!

 

I removed Ebay, Etzy and Tradera(swedish site) apps hahaha so it gets a bit easier =)

 

Man, should I really commit to this also? It seems like the sane choice.. but then again... I've never been called sane

 

I think you should, but with some conditions. MdC is not out of limits =P

 

I broke no sooner than I committed. Damned noobie. Bought a bunch of rapira blade on ebay for cheap. Curse you new joy of shaving!

 

This may give you a loophole, blades don't count for me.

 

Okay that's it! I'm in!

It's not like I'm gonna loose my first born if I break, but I'll try and maintain an absolutely no-buy (trade's okay). I think I have enough face washes until July. If not, bear with me if I re-stock a few washes for my face

 

With the recent plummet in price, you did good! I got my package on new years eve. Splendid prices.

 

Good Luck. I made the same decision a year ago and didn't buy anything in 2014. I still have enough to repeat in 2015 without hardship. I did put Tabac on my Xmas list, but since I didn't "buy" it it doesn't count.

Well, I did buy some disposable razors for my son to take to college, but I don't count that either.

 

That's cool, I haven't been doing this for so long that I can take such a long break from buying. I still have experimenting to do =P

 

Why do blades not count? Just interested....

I'm in the same boat, Seabs. I am just picking up some more essentials (brush, soaps, stand,blades) to get started with a solid 30 day rule. I'm on the lookout for some potential razors to have lying in wait for the future, but only if the right buy comes along- funny that they always seem to.

 

That's my ground rule......................

For me I also collect them as antiques and display not just for use, so I don't feel quite as bad about the amount I acquired last year. Which was a lot. I'm pretty set on software though. But razors ... I'll probably buy a few more this year.
