Here I have a group photo of my Slim Twists and a single Super Slim Twist / The Knack in the USA. Some have the diamond stamped head and others a square stamping. One of the cased razors is NOS. I was left the White handle razor without case by an old friend who died a couple of years ago, this started me off with what you see here. I'm looking out for other variants. These razors don't seem to get much love from other collectors. Post your photo's here if you have one
Great collection. I admit I know next to nothing about these razors. How do they compare to the more well known vintage razors?
They shave similar to a superspeed or other standard TTO of the period, with the plastic handle they're balanced towards the head. The ribbed handle provides a good grip.
Beautiful Collection....I've always liked these....I'd love to have that Beige one on the left....Downright Sexy Beast....}8^)) I like the fact that you can hold the razor in your dominant hand and open the TTO mechanism with the same hand while loading the blade with the other hand.... A fast and efficient design....I dig it....Theres a TV Commercial floating around here someplace that has a white one shaped like yours in the case....And it's a James Bond kind of theme, the secret Agent jumps in a speed boat boarding a yacht because some villian is shaving wrong...and of course theres some babe on the yacht diggin him... Someone needs to find that commercial and post it here....This Thread is hip enough, it deserves that commercial...
I found it....Gary originally posted this....Brian you deserve this....I really searched for this hard.....Enjoy..
Really nice collection @782sirbrian. I have a couple of Knacks myself. They shave kind of like a long handled Super Speed to me. I want one day to get a UK Slim Twist as I like the handle shape more.
The late Cooncat Bob took the heads Slim Twists and Knacks and modified them to make items like these. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/knackenstein.23931/page-2#post-415581
