I have recently purchased a slim and love it. I am still playing with the settings, but find that I can get a really good shave out of it. I bought another one yesterday for my brother, its not the prettiest but is mechanically sound. I'm on the lookout now for a Fat Boy and a SS or two. I think that I suffering from this affliction some of you talk about. It helps when I come across a $7 Super Speed or a $8 Slim at the antique store.
There are soooooo many Acquisition Disorders in wet shaving you are just scratching the surface. The poor economy brought the price of razors down, not too long ago I saw some SS's go for $20.00 and up. If the SS or the Slim are in pretty good condition, at that price I'd buy them. I'd restore them and if I decided I didn't like them, sell them. You will be able to get your money back NP. I don't try to make a profit when I sell razors. Just break even. And I really need to get rid of about 80 or so that are just collecting dust. I've narrowed my favorites down to about 10 and just don't use the others any more. Oh well maybe some day. Enjoy your shave.
