The afternoon brought sun showers to central Florida this afternoon. The sun was out and by most estimates it was a great day except for the fact that it was pouring rain. It was quite refreshing and brought great relief to the usual mid day summer heat. I retired to the lanai with two 16 ounce Tall Boy PBRs in a large beer mug. I accompanied the beers with quite a good smoke (a blend of my own concoction equal parts of cube cut burley, red virginia, izmir, and C&D Green River Vanilla) in a pre-1938 Kaywoodie 7769. This is a very nice smoke, full flavored plenty of vitamin N but with an aromatic vanilla background. The pre-1938 Kaywoodie is of course legendary and one could probably burn dried horse apples in this pipe and get a good smoke.
