Art of Shaving unscented cream or soap. It is not anymore expensive than the other high end soaps/cream (Harris, Trumpers, Coates, ect...), and IMO it is superior to most of them in performance.
Lots of good suggestions; for a soap I would suggest L'occitane Cade and for a cream I would suggest The Body Shop.
+1 on the Joris & C&E Sweet Almond Oil. Also Conks Amber is pretty much hypo-allergenic to me. I have issues with citrus/lime products mostly.
Giovanni just sent me a tub of Proraso Green Tea and Aloe. I have not tried it myself, but I'm going to give a sample to my friend and see it that works for him.
I've used the Proraso Green Tea and Aloe for a couple of days now and I really like it. It lathers well and has been very protective. I've experienced no irritation at all. In fact, the results of my shaves have been similar to what I get with my beloved Tabac soap. This seems to be a winner for those with sensitive skin.
I am new to wetshaving with a DE and have fairly sensitive skin. So far, Taylors Avocado cream, L'Occitane soap, and VDH Deluxe soap have worked well for me. I was set on ordering Karite until I saw that it contains lanolin which I avoid. The next soap I will try will be Honeybee Spa Unscented - have a puck on the way. I also have samples of AOS unscented cream and Truefitt Ultimate which I haven't tried yet but will try soon. Since these companies give out samples for free I would recommend that your friend contact them. I may try it one more time, but I think I had a reaction to Kiss My Face lime. I'm not sure if it was the lime or one of the other ingredients in the cream.
Good luck on your journey. Please let me know how these work out for you. My friend tried out the sample of Proraso Green Tea and Aloe yesterday and had good results. Just keep this soap in mind if all else fails.
I have regular green Proraso, and it seemed to work okay, but I really need to give it another go. One thing, and I suppose this is a bit different than sensitive skin per se, but coconut oil can clog pores, and unfortunately, it seems Proraso creams and soaps are primarily coconut oil based. For that reason, I won't be using it more than once a week.
Wow, must be popular. Seems to be "Out of Stock" everywhere I look. Also, is it a solid soap or more of a cream?
