soap 3 As you can see. Tonight I chose the Conk. Well all I can really say is it smells great and can build a nice looking lather. For me that is where it ended. I have tried several other Conk soaps with the same results. It does not provide me much in protection. Not the slickest stuff in town. I think I could get better lather from my Irish Spring It is too bad, because the scent is fantastic. I did 3 passes and finished with a DFS. When applying the Alum block I had some sting, not bad though. What the heck all soaps can't be a winner for you. Looking forward to tomorrows shave. Only 2 soaps left. Tom
Soap 4 Todays soap The Sudsy Soapery was MUCH improved from yesterdays Soap. Again this soap has a very nice citrusy and bay scent. It lathered easily with my JR brush. I was really hoping that it would be slick enough for my razor choice today. The rolls requires a very slick soap. Sudsy did not disappoint me. My only problem is getting the Rolls blades sharp enough to give a super smooth shave. I started getting some slight tugging ATG on my third pass. It is 106 degrees right now. So I chose my only cool AS. Aqua Velva. I really need a super Mentholated AS for this weather. Anyhow so far This soap is my second favorite. B&M being my favorite so far. Tomorrow will be the last soap. Looking forward to the she shave with it. The soaps I have tried so far I would purchase all but the Conk (not my brand I guess) although it does smell fantastic. I am trying to figure out if I will take any of these. As they are really nice soaps, I would not really feel good about depriving the rest of you the chance to try them. I will have decide that by Saturday. As that is when I will pack it up and send it on its merry way. Tom
Soap 5 Todays soap is the last of the batch. Maggard Northern Moss. As this is a Cream I bowl lathered tonight. So how did it lather you ask? Well pretty darned good. This stuff whipped up a lather really quick and nice. Checking between my fingers before lathering my face. I found this to be a nice slick concoction. Started lathering up and I was in for a bit of a surprise. This stuff is slightly Mentholated. A very nice bonus today as it is still 95 degrees at 7:30 tonight. I chose one of my favorite razors. Schick F loaded with my favorite blade, a cutdown Feather. I did my three passes and finished a a BBS shave. My face feels really nice as this soap seemed to moisturize my face a bit. Very nice soap. So here how the soaps stand for me. B&M Bay Rum is my top choice. Conk is my least favorite. Now the hard part placing the other 3. In all honesty they are all very close. So I will rank them on post shave feel. Tennessee Whiskers was the most moisturizing, then Maggard followed by Sudsy Soapery. Scent for these 3 were as follows. Sudsy Soapery, Tennessee Whiskers followed by Maggard. Cushion while shaving is a tossup. so you can see I cannot choose 2-4 they are a tie. @PLAla Thank you so much for opportunity to try these soaps. I have decided that I will pass all 5 on. I will add some Mitchel"s Wool Fat to the mix. I get some face irritation with it. Maybe some of the others on the pass around have not tried it yet. I will get everything boxed up and out to the PO tomorrow if I get home from work early enough. If not Monday. Tom
I've never tried the fat either and have always wanted too hopefully it's still there when the box reaches me.
Thanks, Tom! Great report. Mitchell's Wool Fat is a terrific addition to the box. It's one of my favorites. I'm glad there are some entrants down the line who haven't tried it yet. @DaltonGang you are up next. Tom already has your address from me. Enjoy!
You are after me, and I have MWF already. So, you are in luck. Just remember, it takes a lot of water.
I have all the soap packed and ready to ship out Monday. I was going thru my samples from Big Shave West. I found 2 duplicate soaps that I have yet to try. I figured I would throw these in too. Not responsible if they suck Here is a shot of what is in the box now. Just so you know, the MWP has been hydrated but is starting to go back to normal. I would suggest blooming it before shaving with it. Tom
I liked almost every one of the soaps. You will enjoy this pass around. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for the additions. I have been wanting to try mickey lee soapworks and Mitchell's wool fat, so thats awesome! On that same note....I was just curious...is there anything anyone behind me has been wanting to try? I ask because I have a lot of soaps, and if i have it i will add it in for you.
I would like to get in on this action if possible. I have a couple soaps I can add that may interest some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here is our updated list of participants! 1. dustmite (July 8-16) 2. twhite (July 18-25) 3. DaltonGang (awaiting the box) 4. Hank 5. Straight razor dandy 6. IDuck 7. old-school shaver 8. zoltetov 9. whiteboy_cannon 10. bcannon87
@IDuck @old-school shaver @zoltetov @whiteboy_cannon @bcannon87 Since you guys follow @Straight razor dandy are there any requests? Since the box will eventually make it back to me I'd like to put in a plug for Stirling, Tiki, Jeeves of Hudson Street, and Route 66. I've only tried one type of Stirling and one type of Jeeves. I haven't tried Tiki or Route 66! My plan is to eventually close this pass-around and the box will make it back to me at the end. I'll try some soaps as you all are then re-open the pass-around for Volume 2 and seek more entrants. But for now we're still good with adding anyone to this volume. Thanks for the offer for any requests @Straight razor dandy!
