There was no warming effect to the soap i think the thermal mudd was to insulate your lather so it would stay warmer longer.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to use a Scuttle. after all that is what modern scuttles are designed to do Keep the lather WARM.

doesn't have the same lingering effect as menthol but sure is safer than chili oil. :signs081:

I used RazoRock MF yesterday. I did not notice a warming effect but did notice one of my closest and irritation free shaves ever.

When I think "warm", bay rum after shave comes to mind. Ever try the Ogallala or Col. Conk? Both are great bay rum smells and very inexpensive.

I tried a bar of Pears Glycerin soap and it gave me a kind of warming sensation when I used it. I have not tried these soaps, but Colonel Conk shaving soaps make an amber and bay rum type. They look like to me like they might have a nice soothing warming feeling on a cold winter's day. I personally have wondered what a puck of Old Spice would feel like, but I don't believe they are made anymore.

My father is an Old Spice fiend. I wanted to get him some shave soap but it is long discontinued. I have found some tube shave cream on the Bay though.

I think I understand what you are saying... you would like to have the nice warm sensation continue well after you have shaved.

One time I tried putting straight glycerin on my face as a pre-shave lotion. I actually found it to have a mildly warming sensation. Other products might include therapeutic creams such as Rub A5-35, Mentholatum Deep Heating rub, or Tiger Balm. I suspect however that some of these products could be a bit strong to use on the face though.

If you find something interesting, let us know.

    Cheers, Lyndon

    Lyndon,

I think I finally found what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it's no longer made! It was a product called Bliss Homme Improvement Thermal Shave Cream. It was supposed to heat up when applied and give "the hot towel" feeling throughout the shave.

You might be able to find a list of ingredients for that shave cream if you do some searching. It possible that you may be able to make up a home brew warming shave cream.

Sounds like an interesting product but no lather. :(

Hmmm... Maybe I could mix it with something like "Kiss My Face" to produce lather? All of a sudden I feel like Dr. Frankenstein! My VanDerWilliams and Mentholated VDH experiments are going well, maybe it's time to start another project. Muhahahaha! ;)
