    Mühle samples, day 1 - 3.4.2013

    • Prep: shower, RazoRock glycerine pre-shave soap
    • Razor: Gilette NEW
    • Blade: Personna Med Prep (1)
    • Brush: WSP Monarch HMW
    • Scuttle: "Estremoz" V2 Green
    • Cream: Mühle Aloe Vera
    • Post: alum, T.N. Dickinson's Witch hazel
    • Aftershave: Mühle Aloe Vera ASL
Today marks day one of testing the Mühle samples. The sample pack contains both cream and ASL of their 3 scents: aloe vera, sandalwood and sea buckthorn. I mainly got the sample pack, because I've heard good reviews of their sea buckthorn line. I began with aloe vera, though. The face feel of the cream is almost identical to Palmolive Sensitive. I wonder if it's the same thing. I couldn't detect any scent in the cream, same as with Palmolive. The ASL had a pleasant aloe vera scent and after 30 minutes my skin feels really nice. I liked both products.

Flawless shave! I really like the new edge on my W&B after honing out the chip. Thinking to re-hone all my other razors to see if I can get a better edge too...

Awesome shave. This razor is so mild that I can't tell it's even cutting until I feel my face. Smoooooth.

BBS again this morning with so little effort and I couldn't have enjoyed this shave more. The Godrej Menthol Mist cream is among my top favorites - it feels like liquid nitrogen on your face, and the lather is enough for five guys to shave. The Visal gel and the Osage Rub are both so cold that it's unreal. ;) :D

Excellent shave this morning. I grated some AoS sandalwood in with some unscented MdC, just enough to give it a nice light sandalwood scent. It performed great.

Wow, what a great shave with the Schick Adjustable today! I haven't used this razor for a while and the shave today was quite a bit better than the ones I had last time. I think, for me... the Proraso pre-shave cream is really great. It provides excellent lubrication and protection. The Schick razor was sliding effortlessly around my face and it was very easy to get a Super DFS shave. Another benefit of the injector is I can shave a bit more quickly than I can with a DE.

    Cheers all, Lyndon

    • Cobra Classic
    • Feather "Blade Guard" Blade (2)
    • Figaro ASL (with added menthol)
Had a good shave with the "Snake" today. It's quite easy to use and it has a large range of working blade angles. However, I do find that it is very important to keep a light touch. I like the Cobra all right but I would say the funny shape of the handle makes it a bit hard to hold sometimes. The handle is sort of triangular in shape with one flat side and two curved sides. To get the right angle, I sometimes end up holding it with my fingers on one of the sharp corners which is awkward. I think this is a good razor but I feel it is over-priced.

    Cheers, Lyndon

001.JPG A little different than yesterday. I love the Omega crème in a tub. Its simple, manly, and produces a great lather. I tried a TREET super platinum today and I was not impressed. It was not even close to smooth. I'm hoping I added too much water to the crème or something as to reduces its slickness instead of a box of crappy blades. Still enjoying the captain's choice and probably will rotate that and lilac for awhile as the weather seems to be warming up some! Have a great day everyone.
