    You'll likely be seeing a variety of these hybrid shaves for a while. I'm determined to learn straight shaving but I can see it will take patience and a prolonged learning curve. Here's day 2 of my focus on learning the straight. Like before I only did a single pass above the jawline with the straight. One very small slice on my lip from getting frustrated and losing steady focus. :rolleyes005:

    Today's set up is all Val - my grandpa. Both razors are from him. Nice to think that the last face before me that they touched was his. :happy088:

    The Black Beauty IS one of the best razors i own. A really stable, dependable razor. I always get good results.BTW, a nice post.

    Wilkinson boar brush
    TOBS cream
    Tiger blade
    TSD splash
    RazoRock alum. Lots of it.
    Kai blade.


    Okay. That was astonishing. This is a first for me. After shaving my left cheek I was determined to finish this shave. After half the left side over my lip I caved. I replace the blade with an old Kai I had yet to discard. That was painful. I think I like the Gillette old. I will try again with a Kai from the start. Perhaps I can sharpen or strop these Tigers, Wow.

    Today wasn't bad, I like the burn but with this razor and blade combo (Gillette platinum) I had no irritation so the AS was good. It can be rough if I use a blade that is not smooth or a more aggressive razor .

    Crusella&Co Sandalo
    Polo blue a/s balm
    Polo blue Cologne
    Up and out early, fine shave. Great sandalwood earthy scent. Great foundation for the Polo blue.
    Hope y'all did as well, or better.
