Result: Well suffice it to say, this shave was less than perfect. Eager to shave again after my phenomenal shave yesterday, I decided to try my luck again with Trumper's Rose. Unfortunately, as always, this was an awful idea. My lathers from creams are far superior, and as per usual, the lather from the soap was less than sufficient. Even using the technique from mantic (upsidedown lathering trick, for those who are curious), the result still was poor overall. However, the shave as a whole was not entirely bad. After a few re-lathers of some areas, I was able to "save" this shave, and the final result was respectable. I guess I am a shaving cream lover? That and my soap to face lathering skill probably isn't the greatest...

    Have a good Saturday everyone.

Boubi, Armand made a small mistake--I gave to him the other 22R. I still have the 91R, because I know it would be a little too severe for him. He still has to learn a few things about DE shaving.....

Great. Thank you. I've got ample supplies of Williams and Arko lined up when the time comes. Since I missed out this week anyway, I'll use the badger and some expensive soap tomorrow, but I look forward to an excuse to shave exclusively on the cheap for a while.

    Regards,
    Tim

Liebschen, sei mit diesem Scheissrasur-Ol sehr vorsichtig, denn es kann ein Rasiermesser gleiten machen, und dass kann ungluckselig sein.

    • Penchetta Penworks Redwood Burl Silvertip
    • La Toja Sensitive S/C
    • Gillette Slim Adjustable
    • Gillette 7OCB
    • Thayer's A/F Original
    • Anherb Conditioner

Result: Started out using a new soap that didn't agree with my skin. :( Had to switch after the first pass to something different, although I probably should have switched before hand. Chose the La Toja Sensitive to finish up with. Shave finished well.

    SATURDAY'S TWO.

    Hair - C A&D E Rose
    Body - Fiorentino Rose
    Razor - Merkur Long
    Blade - Super Iridium
    Soap - Trumper's Rose
    Brush - Bigelow Super
    Splash - Bracer Cool Blue

    ...

    Music - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NioTq2kKzDU

    ...

Fiorentino's Bath soap is simply divine: perfect rose scent very much like T&H Rose's SC but louder. Elegant-looking, hand-made soap which also happens to lather explosively. Far better than Yardley's English Rose - both in the way of scent and gentleness on skin. Tens, tens, tens, tens - TENS across the board!

Merkur 38C w/ Gillette Super Thin
    Vulfix #2233
    Nivea Mild SC
    Nivea Extra Soothing ASB
    Penhaligon's Opus 1870 EDT

Been having a bit of irritation from the T&H cream yesterday, so I switched to more 'sensitive' products. Not a bad shave either. First time using the Nivea Mild SC, and I'm very impressed with it's performance—not the most cushioning, but extremely slick.

Cologne: Parfum de Nicolai 'New York'

Don't know if anyone's tried New York by Parfum de Nicolai, it is an amazing scent that almost evolves from the time you apply it. Scent lasts forever too. It consistently scores full marks at international shows and has been voted one of the top 5 modern fragrances for men. It's hard to find (only 1 retailer sells it down here) but worth every penny IMHO.

    Dorco plastic razor

The razor preforms great. I think this is the last day on the blade, but 5 days on a Wally World Blade is just fine. The Williams performed great as usual. Very nice shave all in all.:D
